Warning: recreational drug use
Harry's POV:
"Ha!"
"Ha! Ha!"
"Ha! Ha! Ha!"
"Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
"Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!"
"Ha! Ha-" I felt Mitch's stomach shudder under my head as he tried to keep his composure. I took my eyes off the cream-colored ceiling and snapped my head to the side to peer up through my fuzzy vision at Mitch. He was covering his mouth and his eyes were pinched shut. Music was still playing softly from his phone speaker, which was resting on the coffee table a few feet from us.
"You're laughing! You lose!" I exclaimed, taking his loss as permission to finally break into laughter, Bee and Sarah immediately following suit. All of our heads were bouncing on each other's stomachs as we lay atop one another on the black carpet: my head on Mitch's belly, Mitch's on Sarah's, Sarah's on Bee's, and Bee's on mine.
"You're the worst at this game, love," Sarah choked out through her fit of giggles. "That's three times in a row!" She lifted her head off of Bee to sit up and lean forward, picking up Mitch's head to kiss him.
Bee turned onto her side, grinning at Mitch and Sarah, before bringing her eyes to me.
Her smile was taking up her whole face, her straight white teeth shining like the sequins of her suit, while her one cheek squished into my black hoodie. The shorter hair around her face stuck to her other cheek so I carefully pinched it between my fingers and lifted it to place it back with the rest of her hair away from her face.
Her skin looked irresistibly soft as her wide grin slowly shifted into a closed-mouth smile. She nuzzled her cheek further into the fabric of my hoodie and I rested my hand across the warmth of her pink exposed cheek, holding her securely in place with my fingers hooked under her jaw.
"That feels good," she whispered as she shut her eyes.
"What? Me holding your head?" I murmured down to her past my double chin that formed from the angle.
She nodded, as much as she was able to, and breathed out a sigh of contentment. I wasn't sure if the warmth in my belly was from how she made me feel, or if it was a side effect of the mushrooms we took half an hour ago.
I grinned down at her, rubbing my thumb across her lower lip. "Why does it feel good?" I whispered.
She kept her eyes closed, her hands folded down between her bent knees, and sighed again. "I feel safe," she mumbled.
I bit down on my lower lip and took an involuntary sharp breath in, causing her head to rise abruptly and she snapped her eyes open. "You okay?" she blinked at me with enlarged pupils.
I relaxed my body again, feeling my cheeks blush in embarrassment. "Yeah," I chuckled, "I just liked what you said, and I guess my body decided to react before my brain could stop it," I admitted.
The wide grin returned to her face. "Mushrooms," she stated.
I felt Mitch shift underneath me until he was sitting up, my head moving down slightly to rest in his lap. Sarah was seated next to him.
"These shrooms are something else, Bee," he said. "I didn't take much but I'm definitely feeling it."
Bee nodded against me again. "Yeah, I thought the same thing when I took them earlier. The show was incredible," she giggled.
I patted my hand on her cheek. "Were you all fucked up for the whole show?" I feigned offense.
She rolled her eyes. "I wasn't sober but I'd hardly call it 'fucked up'. I'll never forget any part of it, if that's what you're asking." She stared into me for an extra moment. "I swear."
