A/N

Hey everyone! I'm back with another update, a slightly long chapter at that haha. This is more of a transition chapter, so nothing too crazy. So, I'm sorry if it comes off a little boring, but hopefully it'll pick back up soon! Hope y'all enjoy it!

What's going on? Where am I? How long was I out for? What's that sound?

Soobin's mind was running a mile a minute as it tried to catch up to reality. His eyes were squinted harshly, the bright lights immensely different from the darkness before. His eyes continued to adjust as he listened around him. He could hear a monitor next to him, the beeps in time with his heartbeat. He could hear a couple of people talking around him, his brain unable to grasp onto anything in particular.

"Doctor, I think he's conscious."

The unfamiliar voice caused Soobin to move his head in its direction. His eyes were still adjusting to the bright lights, unable to get a clear picture of the person next to him. He tried to sit up only to feel extreme pain in his abdomen and side.

"Soobin, please stay still. You don't want to pull your stitches out, now do you?"

"S-stitches?"

Soobin's voice came out more rugged than he intended, the lack of vocal use obvious as he tried to clear his throat. His eyes were almost adjusted to the light of the room, moving his head to look towards where the pain came from. Through his squinted eyes, he could see a couple of stitches both on his abdomen and on his side.

"W-what happened?"

"Do you remember anything that happened tonight, Soobin? Do you remember who attacked you?" The nurse looked at Soobin in concern, wondering if the boy's memories were still intact or if they were still lost in the mental fog.

"I ... ugh ... I went to the bar near the college." Soobin's eyes were now fully adjusted as he looked around the room to see about two nurses, a doctor, and a bunch or wires connected to him.

"Do you remember the name of the bar?" The nurse didn't look hopeful but knew that asking these questions was protocol.

"N-no. Why can't I remember that?" Soobin could feel his breathing pick up as the beeping noise on the monitor next to him began to go faster. He could feel his anxiety spiking as he tried to remember anything that happened last night.

"Hey, it's okay. You were unconscious for a while there. You'll need to give your brain some time to catch up." The nurse smiled kindly at the blue-haired boy, trying to give him some peace of mind. Soobin couldn't help but try to smile back, his heart rate slowing down as he took some deep breaths.

"Do you remember if anyone was with you?" The doctor spoke up this time, a clipboard in hand as if they were writing notes.

"Umm ..." Soobin closed his eyes as he tried to look deep into his memories. Everything felt foggy, as if he couldn't get a clear grasp on exactly what happened last night or who he was with. After about a minute of straining for information, he gave up as he let out a long sigh. "I have a feeling that someone was there after I was hurt, but ... I can't remember who it was."
