Demi

"NICK!" I screeched as I forcefully sat up in our bed. "The kids!" I uttered at the look of confusion plastered on his face. "It's the first day of school, we have to get up! We have to get them up, fed, and ready within the next 30 minutes!" I threw the sheet off of me, speeding towards the door. Before I could touch the knob, the door flew open.

"We need a ride to school." Lilyana grumbled and walked away.

"Lily wait." She stopped dead in her tracks. "Can I see what you're wearing?" I looked her up and down, she had on black and white nike roshe runs, black ripped skinny jeans, with a Boho styled black and white thin striped top with micro straps, that definitely didn't pass the 3 finger rule, it wouldn't even pass a pinky check. "I have a jacket for you, wait right here!" I ran into my closet searching for the light blue/gray faded denim jacket that I bought from my old childhood best friend, Selena Gomez's, fashion line back in 2013ish. "Perfect!" I squealed to myself, running back out to give her this 'vintage' denim jacket.

"Thanks." She mumbled lowly, while slipping my jacket on.

"You look great by the way," she gave me a simple nod of the head, walking into her room. I sighed deeply, when is she going to talk to me again? It's been a little over three weeks since that explosion between her and her father, I mean I'm grateful that I get simple one worded responses and head gestures, she won't even look in her father's direction, but I want to hear her laugh to finally hear her sing, I'm dying to hear her voice again, but just simple words like 'ok', 'no', 'yea', 'i guess', 'maybe', 'thanks', 'hi', or 'bye' are all I get.

I want my baby girl back.

"Demi, we're leaving in a few get ready!" My husband shouted from the bathroom. I snapped out of my trance throwing on a faded cute fuchsia oversized sweater and pale ripped jeans with my tan Sperrys.

"I'm ready babe." I called back. "Log, are you ready baby?" I asked while knocking on his door. Slowly he opened it with a smile. "Don't you smell sophisticated?" He sheepishly grinned.

"It's polo blue by Ralph Lauren." I raised an eyebrow. "Dad gave it to me, he said it'd help with the ladies." I gave him a look that read 'excuse me'. "Don't worry mom, you're the greatest and most important girl in my life, after my twin that is." I rolled my eyes at his smoothness.

"You're cute you know." I chuckled, he leaned up to kiss my cheek. "Did you and your sister eat?"

"I did! I'm not sure, I think she did too." He shrugged his shoulders.

"Get in the car cutie, I'll meet you there," I ruffled his tamed golden hair.

"MOM! That took 10 minutes!" He groaned.

"Fix it in the car," I patted his bum as he passed me. "Lilyana Briel." I called walking to her room. "Have you eaten yet," I went to pound on her door when my husband's voice interrupted me.

"She's already in the car, I have your phone, your purse is on the couch by the door let's go!" He managed to say all in one breath.

"Coming! Coming!" I sprinted down the stairs and out the door. "Morning guys." I smiled sweetly, while slipping into the passenger seat. "Lily, did you eat breakfast baby? If you didn't we can stop anywhere."

"I heard John Burroughs has good breakfast." She mumbled so lowly I nearly didn't hear her. She turned to look out at the passing scenery.

The atmosphere in the car was thick. My subconscious was tearing me apart. Going to this school broke her, I couldn't even think of a good enough reason to send her to this school anymore. Was any of this really worth it?
