"Why?" The detective's icy cold blue eyes peered into mine. "Why'd you do it huh?" I looked down at my intertwined fingers, I'm holding Logan's hand so tightly, that my knuckles are white.
It was cold and dark, my body was trembling, it seemed to have been hours since they first locked us in the interview room from hell. I could see my own reflection, I was a mess, my eyes
were bloodshot, my face completely drained.
"We want our mom." Logan spoke up, demanding our parents.
"Well you can't have her."
"Where's my mom." I finally uttered after hours of silence.
"She's lying on a table fighting for her life, because YOU SHOT HER!" Something in me snapped, I never intended to say a peep but nothing, and I mean nothing could hold be back.
"She. Isn't. My. Mother." I fumed.
"So why did you sho-"
"You must want your ass handed to you on a plate huh?" I shot up out of my seat, slamming my fists on the cold metal table. "This is illegal. I'm underage, he's underage, we're 11, you're speaking to us without parental supervision. Where's my lawyer!? You have all these acquisitions but can't follow simple by the book regulations. So guess what. You're pinning me for crimes I didn't commit, I'm lawyering up. You just messed with a kid whose mom's favorite channel is investigation discovery." I dropped back in my seat, my face emulated such intensity; I could see the fear written on the detective's face. He collected all his files, storming out of the dingy room.
"Lily, you don't have to be here, you did nothing wrong, please just go, I'll take the wrap for this." I held his hand again, this time squeezing tightly. "You have a bright future ahead of you."
"You saved my life out there. She held a gun to my head and you tackled her to the ground, she attacked our dad. Demi was next, she shot herself while you held her down, fighting her for the gun, you took that gun to protect me, incase she got back up. Logan, I won't let you take the wrap for being a hero." A tear slipped down his face.
"Why? Why after everything I've said and done. Why do you still stands by me?"
"You're my twin Logan, and no matter how the circumstances get, your always there to save me and to comfort me. I wasn't born alone; I was born with you. So with you, I'll stay, no matter what." I wiped his tears with my thumbs, as he did the same to me. "I'll get us out of this. I promise."
"How Lily? We're trapped by the law, now that you lawyered up we look guilty of something." I shook my head at him.
"They're listening to everything we said, they got there confession already."
"YOU TRICKED ME-"
"YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you." I spoke over her him. "Just because they have a confession doesn't mean they can use it. This case was unlawful from the start. They didn't read us our Miranda rights."
"What she's that mean?"
"We're getting out of here scratch free." I whispered in his ear.
Demi
"WHERE ARE MY KIDS I HAVE A RIGHT TO SEE THEM!" I screeched at the top of my lungs, creating havoc inside the sheriffs office.
"Ma'am are you on your meds? I understand that you're Demi Lovato, but you sure as hell don't have any kids."
"Twins. Logan. Lilyana. Estevez. Adopted a month ago tomorrow. Give me my kids, I can have this precinct shut down in under an hour for unlawful behavior."
"Right this way Mrs. Jonas," Chief Guerra lead me to the interrogation room.
"They're crying! WHAT'D YOU SAY TO THEM!" I banged on the one way glass trying to get their attention. Lilyana flee out of her seat running directly in front of where I was standing as if she could see me.
"Mommy?" She placer her hand against the cold tinted glass, I placed mine against the glass as well. "Mommy!" She cried as the tears streamed down her face. "Mommy!" She repeatedly banged on the glass. "I know you're out there somewhere. Please. You can't give up on us. We need you- I need you." Her banging on the glass subsided as her sobs worsened. "Ma-om-my-ey" she slowly slid down the glass, her sobs overpowering the room. Logan ran to her side, cradling her in his arms.
"It's gonna be okay, she won't leave us here, she actually loves us, they're different." He spoke softly, fighting back his tears I could see the doubt in his eyes, he didn't believe what he was saying. They didn't believe that I would come back for them.
"Let me in, I'm taking them home."
"Mrs. Jonas they shot their own mother aren't you scared that they hurt you too?"
"No, they didn't shoot their mother, because I'm standing right here. They were protecting me from her wrath, they were fighting a woman that hurt their dad, a woman that allowed other men to lay their filthy hands on my beautiful baby girl, a women that put a gun to her own offsprings head, but that isn't surprising, she set their house on fire with one of them in it. I didn't know crossing state lines made people innocent." I pushed past him swing the interrogation room door open.
"Ma-momma?" He sniffled not believing his eyes.
"Yes baby, it's me." I pulled them into a hug. "I'm gonna take you guys home." I squeezed them tightly.
"But- we- dad- I- I'm sorry." Lilyana cried.
"Daddy's fine. Mommy's fine. Helen is never going to hurt you again. I promise."
"Is is she she's dead?"
"No no no sweetie, I don't know, I just know that I won't allow her to lay a finger on any member of this family again." I kissed the top of their heads.

Short and to the point, lol.I was gonna upload this on Friday, I had such a great day, but i ran out of time before my friend's sweet 16, it was fun! Then Saturday, the 24th, it's always a very depresing and triggering day to me, I literally stayed in bed all day, I didn't trust myself enough tbh.
