Demi
"Hey are you two cuties ready to head out?" They nodded eagerly "Ok grab your bags and lets go." I smiled excitedly
"I don't have anything on." Lilyana spoke quietly
"Do you want me to help you get dressed?" She shook her head "Okay I'll be waiting outside"
"No please don't leave me" I shot her an amusing look. "Just turn around please" I did what I was told. "You can turn around now" I turned slowly. She grabbed her suitcase and slipped on her backpack. She took my right hand in her left and grasped it tightly. I smiled widely, she now has this new found trust for me and I love it. I just wish it didn't have to occur this way.
We headed down to the lobby and all the kids were staring at Lily. She tightened the grip she had on my hand. We sat down at a table near the exit, I had a few more things to fill out.
"Do you guys want me to be your guardian or your mom?" They looked at each other smiling then nodded. Not a single word was exchanged, was this going to be a normal thing?
"Our mom." They said in unison
"What the hell was that? Is that, that twin telepathy shit?" They looked taken back. I covered my mouth "I'm sorry I have a bit of a potty mouth, I'm sorry I'm working on it." They laughed at me. "You do know that you'd have to change your last name for me to be your mom?"
"And we're surprisingly ok with that"
"Well we're ready to head out." I turned in the paper work and the twins took my hands on either side of me. We walked out of the care home all eyes on us, never once looking back. We hopped in to my black luxury vehicle.
"Well buckle up tight it's going to be a quite bit of a ride from Lake Havasu City to Los Angeles." I began to head out to the nearest grocery store which is just up the road.
"You live in LOS ANGELES??" Logan seemed shocked
"LA's where all the famous people live" Lilyana added as I pulled over to the Walmart sitting in front of me.
"I'm going on a hunch but you guys had no idea who I was before today did you?" They shook their heads "Well this is going to be quite an adventure for you guys" I said stepping out the car they followed behind me
"Are you famous Demi?" Lily asked me, I smirked
"Google me"
"On what we don't have phones" my face froze
"You guys don't have phones? You're 11 how don't you two have phones?"
"Simple what ever money came for us from the government the caregivers would pocket and launder it." Logan walked ahead of me entering the store
"First stop we make is to T-Mobile when we get to LA" I announced. "It's a four hour drive to reach our destination and I would like to make as little stops as possible. Go pick up some snacks and drinks because we're only stopping for bathroom breaks. It's 12:03 right now so let's not spend more than a half an hour in here." They nodded and kept on walking ahead of me into the store.
For kids with no phones they surely do leave my side a lot. I spotted Lilyana on the drink aisle but Logan was not in sight
"Dude you two are so hard to keep track of." She didn't bother to look up from comparing the two drinks she had in her hand. Watermelon strawberry or white grape sparkling water. I took them out of her hands and placed them both in the cart. "You can get them both now where's your brother?" I asked worriedly
"Candy aisle" she deadpanned now looking for drinks for Logan.
"How do you know?" I picked up a large bottle of smart water.
