The things you should consider while writing:
1. SHOW, DON'T TELL
Instead of providing a straightforward narrative, incorporate details into your writing. Show actions, emotions, reasons for the situation, and expressions from various perspectives. However, avoid overdoing or overusing this method. For example, instead of stating: She was nervous while singing, rewrite it as: It was obvious how nervous she was. You could hear it in her shaking voice. Even her hands were trembling. I couldn't imagine myself being forced to sing in front of everyone just because...2. NAMES
Give unique names to your characters, but not too complex. Avoid adding more x, y, and z letters.3. SUBGENRES
Almost all stories have subgenres. For me, Mystery/Thriller is my favorite genre, with Romance as its subgenre, and a pinch of Comedy for more fun. So if you're writing, please do mind the subgenre for the story and readers (like me).4. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
No one is perfect, right? Perfect is boring. That's why character development is necessary to show the change of the character based on their experiences. For example, from being weak to being strong, or from being an enemy to being an ally.5. FORESHADOWING
Provide secret hints or clues within the chapters about what could possibly happen in your story. This creates excitement for readers and prompts them to develop theories about the story.6. STYLE
Your story, your style. Some authors use the POV of the female lead in every chapter, and then switches to the POV of her love interest in the Epilogue part, similar to Queen Jonaxx's style. Some authors use emoticons like maxinejiji. Epistolary is also a style of writing. Lastly, you may consider bolding or italicizing dialogues for emphasis.7. TWISTED PLOT
The plot is crucial to the story as it provides the foundation. Therefore, the plot twist in your story should be truly unexpected. In the next chapter, we will discuss how to write a plot to try to explain it more clearly.8. DIVERSITY
Writing a story isn't simple. Ensure that you can still connect with your readers. This could be achieved by including relevant issues, current trends, awareness, complexities, genres, character buildups, etc.9. PLAYLIST
This is a fun way to engage readers with the chapter they're reading. It can evoke different emotions depending on the music that relates to what is happening within the chapter.10. CRITIQUE
Readers are also your critics. Embrace criticism because it is essential to your improvement as an author. Listen, learn, and improve!
