(4) DIALOGUE: Two Dialogues, Stuttering, & Chatting

HOW TO WRITE:

1. If there are TWO SEPARATE DIALOGUES by one speaker.

Method 1:
" + (Dialogue 1) + (punctuation) + " + (dialogue tag) + . + " + (Dialogue 2) + (punctuation) + "

Example:
"Maganda ako," I said. "Tapos ikaw naman gwapo."

Method 2:
" + (Dialogue 1) + (punctuation) + " + (dialogue tag) + , + (action) + . + " + (Dialogue 2) + (punctuation) + "

Example:
"Maganda ako," I said, smirking. "Tapos ikaw naman gwapo.

Method 3:
" + (Dialogue 1) + (punctuation) + " + (dialogue tag with action) + . + " + (Dialogue 2) + (punctuation) + "

Example:
"Maganda ako," I said while smirking. "Tapos ikaw naman gwapo."

2. If the speaker is STUTTERING.

a. Repeat the first letter of the word by using dash.

"H-hindi ko alam."
"H-h-hindi ko alam."
"Hindi k-ko alam."

b. Using ellipses.

"Hindi... ko alam."
"Hindi... Hindi ko alam."
"Hindi ko... alam."

c. Using filler words.

"Uh, hindi k-ko alam."
"Ano, hindi ko, uh, a-alam."
"H-hindi ko, uhm, alam."

3. If writing a CHAT MESSAGE.

a. Right side for the other person/people the person's in POV is chatting with.

b. Left side for the person's in POV.
