You wake up to Eren's phone ringing on his nightstand. You bat your eyes, adjusting them to the dim light filling the room from Eren's window. You looked over toward Eren as he groggily reached his hand toward the nightstand aimlessly looking for his phone to answer. "H-Hello?", he asked, still half asleep. Eren sat up in bed, seeming to have become more alert. "Yeah, hold on. Can I have a second to wake up and get ready? I'll call you back in a few? Okay thanks. Love you.", Eren spoke. Your heart sank. "You don't even know who he's talking to, calm down y/n", you reassured yourself. You continued to lay in bed, watching Eren get up and start rummaging though his closet looking for a shirt. He looked back at you and smiled. "Good morning! Sorry if my phone call woke you up...", he apologetically sighed. You sat up and stretched. "It's okay, I still feel well rested. Who called this early?", you asked while reaching for your phone on his night stand. While continuing to get dress Eren said, "Oh it was my mom. I had forgotten I'm supposed to be meeting her and spending the afternoon with her in a couple towns away." "Oh that sounds really nice", you said as you smiled. You felt relief. Eren half smiled. "Yeah it's been a while since I've seen her. She's been out of town traveling so it will be a good visit", he said as he finished zipping up his blue jeans. You stood up, getting the hint that you need to leave so Eren could continue his day. You threw back on your clothes from last night and fixed your hair. "Alright. Guess I have to do the walk of shame", you laughed as you headed toward his door. Eren followed behind you but grabbed your arm before you grabbed the doorknob. "I really enjoyed last night, I just want you to know that", he gently spoke as he gazed back into your eyes. You smiled and put your hand on his cheek. "I did too,Eren. Let me know if you wanna do it again some time", you winked as you stood on your tippy toes to kiss him goodbye. His right hand cupped your cheek while his left gave your ass one more squeeze before you pulled away. "Have a great time with your mom today!", you said as you waved goodbye as you walked out the door.
You made it back to your car and got comfortable in the driver seat. You started the GPS and began to head toward your parking garage you usually stayed at. Your mind wandered as you drove, thinking about last night. It was the best time you have had in a while, and you didn't even have to spend any of your money. Which, is a great thing considering you don't have very much, only a little over a hundred dollars that you've saved from doing small odd jobs like cleaning peoples houses or babysitting. It was a beautiful day outside, sunny with just a little bit of overcast. It was the beginning of October, your favorite time of the year. The leaves were beginning to fall, the air becoming cooler, and it was getting close to your favorite holiday, Halloween.
In the distance you could see the parking lot entrance. You sighed. "You know what, y/n? Let's get our shit together. I can put on the one nice outfit I have and maybe see if any jobs in town are hiring", you thought proudly to yourself. After getting a small taste of freedom and fun last night, it had inspired you to put more effort forward to do better for yourself. There's only so long living in a car can work for. You parked your car in your go-to spot and began to rummage in your back seat looking for the one professional-ish outfit you owned. You pulled out your black dress pants, a cream colored, long sleeves turtleneck, and your black heels. "This will do", you spoke out loud. You had officially mastered changing clothes in your car at this point, the hardest part every time was getting your pants over your ass, but somehow you always managed. Now time to wash your face and reapply your makeup. You took your makeup wipes and ran them across your face. You quickly then reapplied your makeup, going for a natural but professional look. Once you were done you got out of your car and used your car door as a body mirror to look at yourself. You smiled. "Alright. Let's see what is out there", you thought as you locked your vehicle.
You started walking down the same street you walked last night from the bar. It was busier this morning compared to when you walked to your car last night. It was Saturday morning and everyone in the town was out running errands, getting lunch, and enjoying their free time off work. You smiled at the thought of that being the kind of life you want for yourself. You stopped at every business you came to as you walked down the sidewalk. Each one telling you they weren't hiring. Rejection after rejection. You started to feel hopeless. You came upon a small bistro that was serving brunch. You walked inside the double doors and met the host at the stand by the door. A woman greeted you. She looked kind, her smile was big and her chestnut hair in a pony tail swaying as she was chewing on some food. "Well that's nice they let the employees eat on the clock", you thought to yourself. You approached the woman and smiled. "Hi! Is it just for one?", she questioned you as she continued to chew and grab a menu and silverware. "Oh no! Sorry! I'm actually looking around town to find a job, and I didn't know if your business would be hiring? I don't have my resume with me but I clean and babysit and I'm a very hard worker!", you stated in a confident tone. The woman continued to snack on something behind her stand. "I think it's so cool they let employees eat on the clock here!", you added. The woman finished her bite and then leaned in towards you and whispered, "Oh they don't allow it....but if I don't I'll starve so you didn't see anything!", she said as she started to bust out laughing. You laughed back, you could see why they would want her up at the front and not a cook. "All joking aside", she spoke as she calmed down, "we sadly aren't hiring, which is a shame because I think we would have some fun working together. But I do think around the corner I saw a flyer looking for help a little further down! I can't remember what it was though...but you should check that out!" You smiled wide. "Thank you so much...", you looked down at her name tag, "Sasha! Really thank you!" You then whispered, "Enjoy your food!" She laughed as she stuffed her face, "Oh I always do!"
You headed out the doors and began walking in the direction Sasha said she had seen help wanted flyers. You have had many rejections today, but now you finally had a glimmer of hope. Before you had realized it you were about to be approaching the bar from last night. The bar wouldn't open until later tonight since it's still fairly early. You began to peer through the windows. It looked so much bigger on the inside than it did compared to last night. The atmosphere was dark and romantic, with a perfect feel for adults and college kids wanting to get shit faced.
As you continued to peer inside, something out of the corner of your eye moves towards you. You quickly step away from the window, now noticing that the front door was opening. The doors opened, "Can I fucking help you?", you hear a mans voice ask. "Oh I'm so sorry—", you trail off as you finally looked at the man. "Came to spill another drink on me and my business?", Levi asked.
