A week has passed since you and Levi showered together. Every day has been monotonous as you continually clean the bar, file paperwork, avoid Eren, and go to your room at Levi's house. You were thankful for Levi's graciousness to let you stay. This weekend is Halloween weekend, and each day that passes by the temperature continues to drop. You stood by the windows up at the front of the bar, watching people walk by and cars cruise down the street. You smiled as you took in your surroundings. This was your favorite time of the year. "Have you finished sweeping?" You hear Levi question from behind you, causing you to jump as you face him. "Not all the way, sorry. Got distracted." You quickly looked down at the pile of dirt you had started to sweep up and you begin to continue where you left off. At the bar you see Connie snickering to himself as he watched you become startled from Levi. You rolled your eyes and smiled as you continued to sweep. Levi is at the front counting the cash in the register as Connie organizes the glasses at the bar.

"Levi, I have an idea." You timidly mentioned. His eyes look up from the cash unamused, then back down to the money. "Oh?" He replied. "I love Halloween. It's one of my favorite holidays..." You trailed off. Levi's eyes now on you, waiting for you to finish. "We should throw a Halloween party. Costumes and all. It would be so much fun! This is the best time of the year!" You exclaimed. Connie began grinning from ear to ear. Levi rolled his eyes. "That's the last thing I think would be fun." He grunted. "Y/N that is a brilliant idea!!" Connie shrieked. "Levi, please? I can plan it all! It can be a super small gathering, maybe just work friends, plus Hange? You wouldn't have to do a thing other than let me use the rest of your house. Pretty please?" You pleaded, clasping your hands together and puffing your lower lip out. "I'll help too! I can help buy the food and stock up on the food drinks!" Connie chimed in giddily.

Levi is silent for a moment. He sighs loudly. "You can use the house. You live there too. Small gathering only of people we know. Also, make it known that I will not hesitate to kick people out. Best behaviors only. And you can't get too intoxicated, because this time I won't take care of you." He grumbled. You knew he was hinting toward Eren at his last comments. You grinned. "Thank you Levi! I promise you won't have to do a thing! Connie, when we get off work do you wanna go and get some stuff for the party? Also, I need a costume!" You smiled. "Hell yeah! As soon as Eren gets here to cover me I can drive us and just drop you back off here. Deal?" Connie said. "Deal. If that's okay with you, Levi?" Levi nodded as he pushed the register closed and bypassed you to go to his office.

"It still blows my mind you and Captain are house mates." Connie admitted as he drove the two of you in his beat up Honda Civic. Connie drove with his non driving leg bent, practically touching his chest. His left arm was propped against the window as he drove. He wore a long sleeve navy tie dyed shirt and some comfortable looking jeans that were faded from constant wear. "Yeah, it was really nice of him honestly." You replied. Connie's eyebrow pulled upward. "Whatcha mean?" You hesitate, not wanting to reveal too much of your past to Connie since the two of you had just began to become friends. You didn't want to intimidate him or make him have pity for you. "Just, uh, the other place I was at was very expensive and I struggled. Levi offered his extra room after I began working for him for a little bit. I just think it was nice." You babbled. Connie nodded as his eyes remained on the road ahead. "I know a lot of people at the bar think he's an asshole. And he is. But there is definitely a good person behind his asshole persona!" Connie chuckled. Connie's speed slowed down as he pulled into a shopping center nearby. There were many stores along the shopping center. "I'll be in charge of the food. So let's to run to the grocery store first, then we can get the rest of what we need elsewhere." Connie took charge as he parked crookedly in his parking spot. You got out of the car and watched him check his car that was sitting on the lines of the other two spaces. He looked at you and shrugged. "Too lazy to move it. Let's go." You laughed as you followed his lead.

Candy was piled at every end of every shelf in the grocery store, pushing customers to buy bags for trick-or-treaters. Connie stopped in the candy isle and grabbed three large bags of a variety pack of candy. "What's a Halloween party without candy?" He sarcastically asked as he threw the bags into the cart you had stopped and gotten. "I think we will need real food too...did you wanna grab some things and I'll go looking around for decorations?" You asked him. "Works for me. Can I take the cart though? I have a feeling I'll need a lot of food for Sasha alone." He snickered. You laughed. "Definitely." You watched Connie take off down the isle opposite of you as you turned to look in the party isle.

You felt your phone vibrate. You pulled it out to see you've missed several texts from your father. "Hm, is it already that time of the year again where he is asking for money?" You irritatedly thought to yourself. You ignored his messages, not wanting to speak to him. As you looked through the decorations you realized you didn't know what size table covers to get. You took back out your phone and called Levi. He picked up immediately. "What's wrong?" He quickly questioned, with slight panic in his tone. "I can't call you to ask you a basic question?" You laughed. "No. Now what do you want." He barked. "Geez, sorry. I was just going to ask what size table covers I should get for the tables at your place." You began to look up and down the shelves and started to turn before you bumped into someone ahead of you. "I'm sorry, I wasn't watching where I was..." You trailed off. "Get the biggest one you can for the island..." Levi begins but you don't hear anything he says. "It's you." Mikasa growls.

"Mikasa, I—" you stammer, still holding the phone up with Levi on the other end. "Mikasa? Shit. Where the hell is Connie?" You barely hear Levi yelling on the other end. All you could focus on was Mikasa in front of you. Mikasa's fists tightened around her shopping cart, her knuckles turning white. You take a step backwards, scared of what she would say or do. Behind Mikasa you see Armin making his way around the cart. His eyes widen as he realizes the situation at hand. Armin takes a step in front of the cart ahead of Mikasa. "Y/N, what a surprise. We were just leaving." Armin gave a half-hearted smile as he began to pull their shopping cart forward and away from you. Mikasa's jaw was clenched as she narrowed her eyes at Armin. "You are lucky we are in public. I have some things I'd like to say to you." Mikasa hisses as she shoulder checks you as she walks by. Armin turns his head slight and mouths "sorry" with apologetic eyes. You smile softly and give him a small wave.

You watch as Connie comes flying around the corner of the isle, meeting Armin and Mikasa at the end. "Oh, hey guys!" Connie awkwardly breathed. His breathing sporadic from sprinting down every isle to try and find you. You finally calm down and realize your phone was ringing. Levi's name was on the screen. As soon as you accepted the call you hear Levi. "Are you safe?" He panicked. You sigh. "I'm fine. I think they fact we were in public deterred her from physically hurting me. She was so pissed. She was shopping with Armin so he thankfully de escalated the situation." Through the phone you hear Levi sigh with relief. He cleared his throat. "Well tell Connie thanks for nothing." Levi hung up. Connie made his way to you, shopping cart full of food. "Dude I'm so sorry, out of all the people we could run into, I never thought it would be them. You good?" Connie anxiously asked. You nod. "I'm fine, Armin pretty much saved me though. I don't know what Levi said or asked of you but he sounded angry on the phone and told me to tell you thanks for nothing?" You laughed. "Shit, I'm dead." Connie dramatically whined. "It's fine. Let's finished getting what we came here for." You smiled.
