Chapter 35: Cigarettes, Bourbon, and Confessions

Eren's POV:

The employee lounge is empty since it is so early in the day. He quickly pulls out his phone.

Eren:

This is the only time I will ever ask for this, but I need your help

                                                                                                     Oh? And what exactly do I get for helping?

Eren:

I'll let you into the bar and one drink on the house

                                                                                                                             Zeke:

                                                                                                                Hm, not interested

Eren:

I need you to hit on Y/N

                                                                                                                        Zeke:

                                                                                          That's what I'm talking about. Count me in ;)

Eren:

Meet me at the gas station around the corner from the bar in an hour. I'll give you details

Eren clicked his phone locked. God I hope this works, for Y/N's sake. He thought to himself with a heavy sigh.

An hour later Eren stands infront of Zeke, leaning against the gas pumps. The smell of gas and cigarettes infiltrates his nose. "You got all of that? I don't have time to go over this more than a couple times." Eren added.

"Yeah, yeah. Sneak in the bar, find Y/N, let Levi find me and piss him off. Got it. It's not as complicated as you made it sound. And although I do love fucking with him, why am I doing this?" Zeke titled his head as he questioned Eren.

"I'm testing a theory. That's all you need to know." His irritation with Zeke grew by the second. "I have to head back before Y/N gets there. Stick to the plan."

Zeke nodded with a smirk as he turned to jump back in his car, lighting a cigarette before he sat down.

Y/N's POV:

You're in a field, completely empty other than the thousands of wildflowers that are spread along the grass. In the distance, you see a woman approaching you. Your eyes start to blur with tears. "Mom?" You called out. As the woman got closer, the face of your mother is now in full view, a smile painted on her face.

"My, you sure have grown." She gently spoke. You are unable to speak, you just continue to stare at the woman whom you missed so much. "I want you to know, that I am so proud of you. I'm sorry for everything. It was never your fault." She closed the gap between the two of you with an embrace, kissing your temple and wiping away your silent tears.
