'Daisy'
The blue lights flashed around me as I moved my body in time with the music, my long hair sticking to the thin layer of sweat on the back of my neck. I could feel the beat of the music through the floor pulsating as I spun around the cold metal pole.
I wasn't the main dancer tonight, I was one one of the smaller stages that was further away from the main stage near the bar. The music was upbeat and faster than I normally liked to dance with, but I was enjoying myself anyway.
I occasionally glance into the crowd, not seeing many eyes focused on me, not that I expected everyone to be watching. I was used as decoration in the club other than an actual person, but I didn't mind, I was used to it.
There was the occasion tip being thrown onto the stage as I slowed down my movements and the song quietened down. The blue spotlight that was shining on me dimmed down to complete darkness as I collected the notes off the sticky stage floor and stuffed them into my corset.
I made my way into the dressing room, my eyes squinted as I opened the door to the brighter white lights. I shut the door behind me and saw that the room was empty.
I quickly stuffed the money into my jacket pocket that was hanging up before I went to fix myself up in the mirror.
I faced myself in the full length mirror on the wall. The mesh white corset hugged my body tight, accentuating the shape and curves of my body. There were little daisies covering between my legs and my breasts while the rest of it was completely sheer white. The back was low and open, exposing the skin of my bare back, but my hair mostly covered it. There were also matching white sheer thigh high stockings that were attached by straps to the bottom of the corset. My heels were slightly bigger than they usually were, making my legs look longer and adding a couple of inches to my height.
I grabbed a wide comb and bruised my tangled curls until they looked smooth, trying to quickly fix my appearance in any way before I had to go out into the club to serve drinks and give quick dances.
I ran my finger under my lips, fixing the small smudges of dark red lipstick that were on my chin. I stared at myself in the eye, the dark bronze eyeshadow painted on my eyelids and complemented with a dark eyeliner. I actually thought I did a good job at my makeup.
I grabbed a lace trimmed white robe to keep myself somewhat covered when I was serving people. I never tied it at the front, I let it stay open still exposing the corset, my job was to distract men and flirt with them until they gave me money, the corset pushed my boobs together and made them look bigger than they actually were, the perfect distraction.
I took a deep breath, smiling at myself for a boost of confidence before I walked back out to the dark blue flashing lights and upbeat music of the club. The dance floor was unusually crowded for a Tuesday night.
I sat up at the bar for a moment, playing with the lace trim on the sleeves of the robe. I sat under the brighter lights of the bar, where the marks on my wrists from James' fingers were imprinted. I sat watching Niall, who was working tonight, skillfully made so many drinks at one time, quickly placing them on the tray beside him before turning around to place the round tray in front of me.
I was thankful that I was allowed up to ten minutes break after a performance before I had to get back to work, I always got really tired after dancing for too long.
"You want something darling?" I looked up to see Niall staring down at me with a friendly smile and I quickly pulled my sleeve down to hide the red marks that were so visible under the brighter lights.
"Please" I nodded with a smile.
That was one of the things I liked about working here, I could drink on the job. I was sure if I wasn't allowed to drink, I would have quit the same week I joined, the free alcohol made this one of my favourite places.
