Fae, You'll Forgive Me

Majestio was arrested the following morning. Apparently after the story of my harassment got out (though thankfully, no one knew it was mine), it was followed by no less than six other girls coming forward and saying they had the same experience... though many, far more morbid than mine, with no sudden beastly transformation to save them. I felt awful for them, and so incredibly relieved Majestio was being served his justice. Now, one case maybe couldn't be used against him, but seven could certainly.

In fact, later that same day, hundreds of stories came up all over the Pearled Isles of girls finding the courage to tell now that Majestio was in custody - heartbreaking stories, of Majestio, after saving their families from some villain, having them 'pay their thanks' in sexual favours. The disgusting man was not 'helping families' after saving them, after all. It was hopeful that he'd get forty years in the Dungeon of Decrespair, with all these stories coming up.

Evidence was also discovered to show that on his first arriving at the castle, he spread love potion particles around the whole school in the magic show he put on for us, just to further form his defense of everyone loving him. Which just goes to show that Gaga was right about it being the deadliest potion after all.

I found out that Hester had been suspicious of it all along - which must have been the reason for her unease at his arrival. Apparently her cousin had been saved by Majestio and was 'never quite the same' afterwards, for reasons she couldn't explain.

I also felt bad for all those who loved him. He's really tricked so many people. Persephone worst of all - she was utterly scandalised. I heard my friends (with Persephone in the lead) had been working on a prank just before Majestio was removed from the castle to serve him just a trifle of revenge, but were lost of ideas and didn't have the right stuff. Hester had approached them claiming she could and wanted to help, and so already with three flour sacks of the goo found in stink grenades at the ready, together they hatched a plan and dropped the sacks onto his head as he walked through the courtyard, chained by two dungeon guards - in the heat of the moment Persephone screamed after him, "This is you, you slimy, rotten, disgusting man! You've ruined lives and lied to us! How dare you let me love you! Rot in prison and then in hell and maybe I'll drop another sack on you when I meet you there!"

It was a good speech. But rather gave away that they're the ones who did the prank.

Still, it had great results: a stinking, screaming, gooey sex offender and a hundred yelling students and two laughing guards. It gave everyone much satisfaction, though of course it did not contest against the hundreds of lives he had ruined forever - nothing could. And more unfortunately, the group of them had gotten caught by Hwelpum just as they were escaping down the hidden staircase - thankfully, the headmaster only congratulated them on the trickery of the prank, and sentenced them to mopping up the leftover goo in the courtyard. Morgaine removed it in one swoop of her wand.

And now, it is the last day of school, the Sunday before everyone packs their bags and leaves for two blessed weeks. I made my first appearance since the incident. I doubled back several times along the way, suddenly feeling unable, but I made it with mumbled words of encouragement and Killian's hands guiding me at my waist.

He came with me first into the library, breaktime (when I had emerged), where my friends (Persephone, Morgaine, Gilbert, Gray, Mollis and Pip) were folded, holding my hand. They had not noticed us yet. It occurred to me now suddenly that not one of my friends was in favour of Killian. I pulled him behind a bookcase, and he stumbled in following of me.

"Cosmo? What's wrong?"

I bit fervently at my thumb. Were we really about to swagger over to my friends, hand in hand, and announce to them, them who know how much grief the man who now holds my hand has put me through? Tell them casually, as if none of it had happened, that we were splendidly in love?
