Michael's POV
I push the door bell, Mr. Reid opens the door quickly. "Oh hey Michael." He greets me, taking a step back, letting me come in.
"Erin! He's here!" He shouts from the living room.
"I'm coming. Stop shouting at me Joey, please." She yells back.
Me and Joey laughs. "She's always arrogant." He says still laughing.
"Yeah, she never spoke to me before except last night when she recognized the song."
"She don't talk much, but when you know her better she'll start to cling on you." Joey chuckles.
"I heard that!" She shouts, opening the door of her room.
She just smiles, saying nothing, walking down stares. And opens her mouth, looking at Mr. Reid. "Bye Joey."
"Bye. Have fun."
"If possible."
I open the car door for her.
"I can manage." She says smiling and glaring at me. "You don't have to open and lock the door for me."
"Okay." I say. I'm just being a gentleman here.
This is going to be a long way.
None of us rarely speaks. So I decide to play some music, because that's what made her talk last night. I turn the radio up, it goes like....
And I forget just why I taste
Oh yeah, I guess it makes me smile
I found it hard, it's hard to find
Oh well, whatever, never mind.Erin hums to the lyrics. I can tell this girl right here has good taste of music.
"You like Nirvana?" I ask, trying to sound clueless.
"Ofcourse." She talks, she responds, she smiles. I melt in her smile, it is so beautiful.
"No way!"
"Yeah. They're one of my favorite bands."
"Are you kidding me?"
"Not at all." She says quietly, smiling.
"What about Fall out boy?" I ask again.
"Is that even a question? Yes!" She says still smiling, wider and making eye contact with me this time.
I pull over the parking lot. "There we go." I mumble.
"What's your first subject?" She asks, unclipping her seat belt.
"English, you?" I turn to see her.
"Chemistry." She replies, jumping off my car. "I'll see you then."
*Fast forwards to biology class/ last subject*
"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.... Okay, be sitted." Typical Mrs. Andrews greetings.
And yeah, this was my least favorite subject but it changed ever since Erin showed up.
I don't know why she doesn't want to be friends, but maybe she's still adjusting herself. I felt what she's feeling right now, she's homesick.
When I was 9, mom and I flew here in New Jersey. I didn't talk for a month. I like it better in Aussie to be honest.
I wasn't listening to Mrs. Andrews. I'm focusing on her. I'm observing how she writes. How she holds the pen. I can't take my eyes off her. I'm exagerrating again. Damn, I need to calm the butterflies in my stomach.
