CHAPTER 18: Battle For Life

Touya's POV:

First thing in the morning i was dragged out of the cell by ten guards and the slave boy from before.

"Is it time for my execution?"

The boy spoke.

"Actually you gotta warm up the crowd first. If you refuse to do so. The lion will die and you'll be tortured for hours. Fight to earn an honorable death as a warrior. Master has planned to make a statue of how you die. After all you are his oldest child."

The half and half kid goes to stand up, but his blonde bodyguard doesn't let him.

"T.....touya?"

After he spoke and the door began to close behind me. I said to him."

"Not anymore, the name's Dabi now."

Still bound in chains, they released the lions. I was given only a shield to fight them. Both lions had me between them as the crowd boos in disgust.

"Go back to the labyrinth and die you piece of shit!"

"Let us see your guts across the field!"

"Give up so we can see the torture games already!"

Those words started to piss me off. So as both lions attacked. I smacked one on the head to jump up. Chains wrapped around it as I flew up and away. The lion's jaw strangth breaking me free. The other bites onto the iron mask. Breaking it like an egg shell. With all the weight off. I ran towards a guard and took his spear. Killing both lions and the guard with one swing. Blood splatters on the crowd as chears now fill my ears. I look up to see enji furious. So I flip him off and scream out.

"Bring me another challenge! I can take anything you dish out father~!"

My tone for saying father was sarcastic and mocking him. So he lifts his right hand. Everyone goes silent.

"Since you took on two lions with ease. I have another animal for you to fight. Let's see how long you'll last against the bull."

The crowd gasps as an iron bull is rolled out onto the field.

Keigo's POV:

Once at the heavens again. I shut miriko out of my part so is to never see her again. I go to spy on touya,  but my signal is cut. Like everyone bird around the area is dead.

"Keigo let me in right now. Listen i was only doing this for your own good. You saw how humans are. They kill for entertainment and try to become gods."

"I was a human, and never did any of that. I only did what I had to in order to live."

"That's why I blessed you. Keigo,  you were the only human with a kind soul. So I had to protect you."

"What about touya? You didn't look at him the same way you did at me. Which is why I was gonna give him my wings. I'd give my life for him to have a do over in life. Touya didn't deserve the life he was given."

"Let me in and I'll take you to see him one more time. I realize now that I'm no better then the monstrous side of humans. I won't keep you trapped here anymore."

I opened the way and see her holding a pink rose for love. As I get closer. It gets bigger. Which is a sign that she loves me. So instead of keeping it. Miriko gives me the rose. Causing it to grow out of control.

"So you love him. Go be with him. As a mortal his life is short. So enjoy it while you can."

As she begins to hide her tears. I kiss her cheek as a thank you before flying to him. Only, I don't see him, but a crowd is cheering while a fire burns under the belly of an iron bull. A scream begins to fade as the bull whistles like a tea keddle. Enji begins to laugh hysterically like in the vision. As the scream becomes horses. An arrow flys out of nowhere and goes into the viewing window of the bull. Quieting the screams of agony. Everyone goes silent and looks to see who shot the arrow. It came from Natsuo. Who was standing by the gates with the gladiators of the coliseum.
