Please read the note at the bottom of the chapter:)
———————Remington's POV:
It has been 3 months since my interview with Adira. I can't say she has been awful nor nice but she has been...pleasant. She yells a lot. Not always at me but at others. She is very scary."Come on Remi. We have been practicing for 3 months and you still can't get it right," she yells with each of her hands on both sides of her head fisting her hair.
"I'm sorry. It's complicated okay."
"It is a simple model walk okay. One foot in front of the other. Swing your hips subtly. Let your hands hang down at your sides and move naturally. Keep your head up high without a trace of emotion on your face."
I nodded okay. I am in a simple white dress with sheer puffy sleeves and ruffles at the bottom. I also have on some simple white ankle strap heels.
I took a deep breath and focused on what Adira said and walked across the room to her. I kept my head up and looked straight at Adira. I didn't move my arms and walked with one foot in front of the other.
"There. That was great," she said.
I smiled. "Did the Adira Verlice just compliment me?"
She smirked at me. "Don't let it get to your head it won't happen again."
I frowned and she scoffed at my pouting face. "Come you have work to do."
I rolled my eyes and began practicing the different types of walks she assigns me to do. They weren't easy. They were difficult and I get frustrated when I can't get them right the first time.
After many hours of cat walking I am finally done for today. I started to take off my heels and packed them into my backpack and pulled out a pair of white Birkenstocks and slipped on. I was hoping to stop by some boutiques before I went upstairs.
2 days after I got the call from Adira saying I got the job she moved me into one of the apartments in her building. She said it would be easier for her and I to be in the same building.
I quickly grabbed my bag and left to go shopping. The street the boutiques are on is only 1 block from here so I usually just walk. I got onto the sidewalk and walked into the direction of the shops. Arthur has shown me around a lot since me being here. He said his wife shops here so he told me about them. I haven't stopped receiving messages and calls from Venus and Emilio. I eventually blocked both of their numbers.
Around 10 minutes later, I made it to Sophia Lillies Boutique. This is my favorite one. I walk in and am immediately welcomed by their fresh lavender scent. Sophia walks put from the back. I have gotten to know here well considering I come here quit often. She is a shorter girl with blonde hair and brown eyes. She wears these nerdy glasses but they make her look adorable.
"Hey Remi."
"Hey. How are you?"
"I'm great. What about you?"
"Just fine. I came to see if I could fine a light lavender sundress."
"I just got a shipment of sundresses. I haven't gone through them yet. I was just about to when I heard the bell. Come to the back with me?"
I smiled and she led the way to the back of the store after turning the sign from "open" to "closed". We made it to the back and she had many boxes on the floor. She grabbed a cutter and opened all the tape up and started unboxing them.
"Go ahead. You find something you like set it aside."
"Okay."
I sat my backpack aside and sat on the floor and opened a box up. I dumped the clothes out and started going through them. I found an adorable blouse. It is baby blue with ruffle sleeves. I found a pair of ripped light wash jeans, black sleep shorts, fuzzy hoodie, and a black T-shirt with a little white dinosaur in the corner.
I opened another box and was met with skirts. I picked out a white one and a black ruched leather skirt.
"Ooh. Look at this."
I looked over at Sophia who was holding up the cutest lavender sundress.
"Oh my goodness. That is the cutest ever. Can I get that one?"
"Yes of course. I will set it aside for you."
"Your the best Soph."
"Pshh. I know. You don't have to tell me that."
I laughed and couple seconds later she joined me. After hours of going through clothes I finally decided to pay and leave. I helped Sophia hang up the clothes where she wanted them and help but the shoes on display.
"Thankyou so much Remi. I would have never gotten this done for tomorrow if it wasn't for you."
"No worries Soph. I had fun."
"At least let me give you the clothes for free. You helped me so much it is the least I could do."
"No no no no. I cannot take these for free. I love you but no."
"Please Remi. I'm not taking no for an answer. Just this once."
"Nope. Sophia I can't do that."
We kept arguing back and forth for a few minutes until she started giving me the pouty face and I agreed.
"Thankyou Soph. You didn't have to do that."
"It is no problem my dearest friend."
I smiled and bid my goodbyes and left down the street. It was dark outside and my nerves started acting up. I sped up my walking until I got to Adira's building and went inside and to the elevator. I pressed the 17th floor button and the elevator started moving. I got up to my floor and took a right and made my way to apartment number 218.
I got inside and took my shoes off and set to the side. I made my way to the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle and left to my bedroom. I put all of my new clothes away except for the sundress. I hung it up in the bathroom and grabbed a pair of white lace up sandals and sat with it. I did my evening routine and hopped into bed. Today has been a long day and I am so tired. I closed my eyes and sleep was quick to take me.
