Chapter 12

Remington's POV:
I cried out when Ty stuck the needle in me for the stitches. I put my fist in my mouth and but down to keep my cries quiet. This hurt so bad.

"Fuck you Ty! I will never ever be your friend," I shouted.

"Ouch! Damn it Ty. I fucking hate you," I yelled.

I was about 6 stitches in. It hurts like a bitch. I'm glad Emilio had pain killer when I did his stitches.

"It's okay Miele. Only a few more and it will be over. Your doing so good my love," he said. My love. I love the sound of that.

"I will never ever like you Ty. You are an evil bastard," I shouted.

I heard him chuckle. I looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh, you think this is funny. How would you feel if I took that needle and sewed your dick hole closed," I asked.

Emilio started laughing. I glared at him too and he immediately closed his mouth. I looked back at Ty who winced and nodded and pulled out some gauze.

"Recuérdame nunca molestarla jefa," Ty spoke to Emilio. I knew exactly what he said because I know Spanish quit well. Before Emilio could respond I did.
(Remind me to never piss her off boss.)

"No tienes idea," I responded. He looked up quickly with a shocked expression on his face. I smirked and Ty looked at Emilio who had an amused look on his face. I laughed internally.
(You have no idea)

Ty resumed applying the gauze over my bullet wound. He finished and gave me a small smile and collected his things and left.

"You did such a good job Miele. I'm so proud of you." Emilio said.

He reached down and pulled the comforter up over me and put his hand on my head and rubbed my forehead.

"That hurt like a bitch," I said.

"I'm sorry. You and Venus can stay here until we figure out who wants to hurt her," he responded.

I just nodded. That sounded nice. I wonder how I am going to explain this all to Venus when she gets here and I would love to know the secrets she has been keeping from me. That made me so pissed. She got mad over me keeping secrets when she has some of her own. Hypocrite.

Emilio continued to stroke my hair until I eventually fell asleep.

Emilio's POV:
Remi has been sleeping for 2 hours now. Gio brought me a change of clothes a little while ago. I took a quick shower to get her blood off my chest and arms.

I don't know how to tell her that her best friend is an assassin. Venus Rivera is not a tech analyst; totally. She works undercover as an FBI agent to get information for us. She is one of the best assassins we have.

Venus Rivera is on a mission right now. Venus led her kidnappers to her. They are supposed to take her to the leader of the German mafia; Oskar Müller. He is a pain in my ass and has stole millions of dollars from me. Whether that be guns, drugs, or actual money.

I didn't see Venus at the restaurant. Her back was turned to me. When I came back to the apartment it wasn't just a coincidence that Venus was living in the same building as Remi, Remi had a best friend named Venus, and she was being kidnapped. I ran up the stairs and into the room and saw Remi with blood spreading out around her.

I told her I had people looking for Venus but the truth is I really didn't. I just told Remi that to make her calm down. Venus can take care of herself. She is there to get some files and leave. She has done plenty of these missions before and has never failed.

She has probably worked for me for 7 years. I found her on the streets when she was 17 and took her in. She showed potential and I trained her in combat and taught her how to use guns, knives, bow and arrow and a lot of other weapons.

When Remi allowed me to take her jeans off I couldn't believe she cuts herself. She promised she wouldn't anymore. They didn't look fresh so she hasn't done it recently. They were white and looked relatively old. I would have probably done the same if I had been through the same thing this girl has.

She is the sweetest person I have ever met. Although she wasn't very sweet to Ty. That made my day the way she cursed at him. And the way she surprised him with talking back to him in Spanish. He looked like he was going to shit himself.

I haven't left Remi's side. I pulled a chain up to the bedside and stayed next to her. She looked so peaceful sleeping. Her long eyelashes displayed on her rosy cheeks. Her pink, full lips opened the slightest bit. She's the most beautiful thing my eyes have ever looked at.

My family came in shortly after she fell asleep. My mom adores her. My father hasn't known her for that long so he is still cautious. Gio and my siblings like her too. Lisa talked about her earlier. Lisa is a bitch. She has never been nice to people. I think the money got to her head and she thinks she is better than everyone else. I don't like to brag about my money because it does nothing. I like to see the fear in peoples eyes when I walk into a room. I don't like when they look at me and want to get to know me. They all just care about the money.

The door to the room opened and Gio walked inside.

"What is it?"

"Venus is in your office. She got the files," he replied.

"I will be right there," I stated. He just nodded and left.

I hated to leave Remi but I needed to get Oskar out of my way. I leaned forward and kissed Remi on the forehead and stood up. I walked put the door and towards my office.

I opened my office door and Venus was sitting in a chair in front of my desk. Gio, Mariano, Francesco, Lisa, Mom, and Dad were all there too.

"I got the files from him. I secured a blueprint of his house, list of other properties, and some locations of his shipments coming in," she said as I sat down in-front of her.

"Nice work Venus," I replied with a smile.

She nodded before she spoke up,

"Sir, how do you know my roommate Remi?"

"She is the one who saved my life when I got shot. I brought her here so she wouldn't go to the police. She is not a prisoner. She is doing fine right now; she is sleeping upstairs," I responded.

"Okay. Thankyou for taking care of her. I appreciate it," she replied.

I nodded. "She cannot know right now who you are," I said.

"I wasn't planning on telling her anyway. Is this where she was yesterday?"

"Yes. She was here. I didn't see you walk into the restaurant. I didn't know she was your friend," I stated.

"Does she know who you are," she asked.

"Yes. She does," I answered.

Venus sighed and leaned her head on her elbow.

"I never wanted her to be involved in this," she spoke.

"She is under my protection. Nothing will happen to her."

"Can I see her?"

"Later. We have to wait a few hours so it seems like we actually found you so you need to play your part," I said sternly.

"Yes boss," she replied.

"Good. I will review the files later. Thankyou," I said before I got up and walked out.

I made my way back up to Remi's room and walked inside. My girl was still asleep. It is almost 11:30 at night. I walked over to the other side of the king bed and took my shirt off and laid down beside her and quickly feel asleep.
