We were all at the docks while JJ and Pope were fishing.

I was torn between staying to aid in whatever this mystery hunt was or just going home and never seeing these people again.

It wouldn't be hard to avoid them for two months; they were from the Cut after all.

I felt really guilty for thinking like this.

I just didn't know if I was ready to be implicated in all this mystery solving shit.

But these people were my friends and I wasn't gonna leave them.

"Hello, earth to Attie" Kiara calls, waving her hand in front of my face.

I instantly come out of my thoughts and look over at the four teens.

"Sorry. Lost in thought" I mutter.

"All right, so think about it, Pope. How does a marina rat get a Grady-White?" John B asks.

"Prostitution" Pope replies flatly, only paying attention to the water.

"Square Groupers bro. I'm talking flying under the radar, no aerial surveillance. They don't do that stuff during a hurricane" John B replies.

Kie looks over at John B confused on where this was leading to.

"What does that mean JJ?" John B asks.

"They were straight smugglin' " JJ responds.

John B continues on with his theories.

We we're all back in John B's room after Pope and JJ finished fishing.

I felt kinda awkward seeing as though I was the new one in the group and that it was my first time in John B's house.

"For the record, if that is a smuggling ship with illegal contraband on the inside of it... it probably belongs to someone else" Pope says.

I was snapped out of my thoughts and brought back to the conversation at hand before Kie spoke up.

"—Minor details"

"—They could come looking for it. Taking it would be catastrophically stupid" Pope continues pointing the money at Kie.

"Right. Well stupid things have good outcomes all the time" JJ responds, spreading the money inbetween his fingers. "all we need to do now is figure out a way to get into the cargo hold of that wreck. Until then we just lay low and act normal."

"Right. and how exactly do we do that?" I speak up after a while.

"Kegger?" Kiara suggests, looking out at the rest of the group.

The three boys nod as John B looks towards me.

"Are you able to come?" he asks.

I look at him blankly.

"Erm— I guess I could call my mom and tell her I'm staying out a bit later" I respond.

Kiara's face lights up and I step out into the hall and dial my mom.

After a bit of convincing my mom agreed to let me stay out with the group.

"Okay, we're good I can go" I say with a smile walking back into John B's room.

With a few stops at some stores for some cups and drinks the group and I make our way to a place called the Boneyard.

It was a somewhat deserted beach with fallen trees everywhere.
