Color Chart (Re-written)

I returned to the couch, accidentally stepping on the TV remote and turning on the television. As I picked up the TV remote to store it in the drawer beside me, I hear the TV turn on and listened to what was being talk about on screen.

"The female mantis is eating the male mantis. That is how it ends for the male mantis who is risking their lives trying to mate."

"Female mantises eat male mantises during mating season. Male mantises try to mate knowing they'll lose their lives."

"Female mantises eat them entirely without leaving anything behind."

I watched the video shown in the documentary with a blank expression on my face. It was more like staring than watching, I would say, the video is kind of like us monos, right?

Only the sound of pencil scribbling filled the classroom as there was an upcoming quiz on Friday. Arriving fashionably late, Taehyung entered the room with his hands in his pockets. Whilst walking in, he used his hands to comb through his bangs and he stomped louder into the classroom. The teacher was asleep, so he didn't notice his arrival.

"You must think your good looks give you a free pass for everything, huh? Arriving when class is almost over." I overheard Johnny say as Taehyung approached them. "Alright, I hear you, just be quiet." Taehyung chided him in return.

"Taehyung, take your seat. Come on, hurry up."

"Alright alright."

As Taehyung sat in his seat, he put his empty bag down on the side of his desk and grabbed his phone. He noticed Jungkook's presence and stared at the back of his head. He leaned his back over the table and whispered to Jungkook underneath his black mask. "Jungkook, Jungkook, Jeon Jungkook. I'm here." He called out but got no reply in return, even with his effort.

He waited a couple of seconds before getting impatient, "Hey!" He whispered and yelled at the same time. Still no answer, he got up from his seat and told Eunwoo to switch seats with him. Eunwoo raised his eyebrow but obeyed nonetheless and got up to sit behind Johnny. As Taehyung sits down behind Jungkook, Johnny nudged at Eunwoo to him to Taehyung's efforts, smiling creepily at them.

"Jeon Jungkook, look at me will you?" Taehyung whined, like a toddler not getting the toy he wanted.

"What about your mask?" Jungkook asked cautiously.

"I have it on, don't worry"

Before turning around, he felt something poking at his shoulder softly. At one point, he reluctantly turned his torso around, facing behind him and making eye contact with Taehyung. Looking at the object in Taehyung's large hands, it was in different shades of gray in his eyes and looked very packed. "Did you just poke me with that thing?" Jungkook asked, slightly raising his left eyebrow. Laughing slyly before answering, "Yeah, sorry, the art supply shop closed up early, so I went by there this morning." He smiled, showing it through his eyes, and squinted at the mono. "What for?" Johnny chimed into the conversation while holding a novel. Taehyung turned to face his friend and held up a rectangular color chart with a binding at the end to make it look like a key chain. "To buy this." He turned back to face Jungkook, "Even academic tutors give previews before getting the job. I offered to teach you colors, without giving you one myself. " As Taehyung was flirting with Jungkook, the other 2 students stared at them, mouths agape.

"That's why, Ta da!" Taehyung opened up the chart like a chain, revealing each section, each color, each shade and finally revealing all the sections in one go, positioning it like one of Eunwoo's paper fans while having a mini celebration with excitement in his eyes. "Come on, take it." He looked at Jungkook's pale hands and grabbed his wrist to get him to take the color chart. Jungkook reluctantly accepted it. "This! My friend, is what you call a color chart, " He fixed his posture in Eunwoo's chair and continued, "Okay, now let me explain. Everyone starts with the basics, right?" Before he could say or introduce anything else, Jungkook slammed the chart on Eunwoo's desk and turned back around. Taehyung, still not losing his excitement, started poking his back with the chart while whining and begging for him to turn back around, Jungkook grabbed his complementary air pod pro from his pocket and proceeded to put it once it connected to his iPhone. He closed his eyes and listened to his Spotify playlist with Taehyung whining as background music
