Zelda

As I was holding onto Link tightly, time itself seemed to slow down. Sure, we were flying on Storm through a field covered in enemies coming towards us, but Link seemed unbothered. He simply took out the Master Sword and swiped at monsters who dared come too close.
Over the past few days, I've gotten Link to not only open up to me more, but I've been able to open up to him as well. I had grossly misunderstood him. I figured things were easier for him...I could not have been more wrong. Not only did he have many adversities, but he shouldered them all by himself not wanting to burden anyone else. He was completely selfless, all the while I had been completely selfish.
I've profusely apologized to him for my actions before, and he didn't even hesitate to forgive. He didn't hold me to anything. Not only does he go into battle with honor and courage, he is the very embodiment of honor and courage.
He was fierce on his enemies, yet his heart was true and had only the best of intentions.
He was simply...wonderful.
But he probably doesn't think the same of me. Who am I to put him in a position like that anyway? He has his position, I'm sure that's his main goal here. Not to mention we both have large roles to play in the near future that all of Hyrule is relying on...
I couldn't deny the feeling I had being this close to him, however. Butterflies flew from my stomach to my throat, where they seemed to get stuck.
Though chaos surrounded us, being here with Link made everything okay in the world. I gently placed my head against the back of his neck. Link didn't seem to mind.
There was no denying that I liked him, I doubt he returns it however. How could he, after how ugly I was towards him?

Zelda placed her head against my back and I couldn't shove the feeling away in the slightest. In fact, it grew. This time, it was less anxious and more like a warm comfortable feeling.
There was no denying that this girl was precious to me, but due to the difference in stations I would have to watch her have a different future, one without me.
Not to mention, she was focused on unlocking her power, much less caring like that for a lowly knight.
I was trying to tell myself no, though I wasn't making a very convincing argument to myself.
Having her close to me was all I wanted for the rest of time.

Ahead the monsters were beginning to clear, thankfully most of the lynels were in the center of the monsters and we avoided most of their arrows. The moblins, lizalfos and bokoblins hadn't been quick enough to catch us on horseback, let alone at Storm's speed.
As we put substantial distance between the mobs and us, I started slowing poor Storm down. I made sure to sooth the poor horse after all that hard work across the field.
"Always make sure to soothe your mount." I recommended.
"Why?" Zelda inquired. She hadn't moved an inch, though we had slowed down.
