Zelda

------------------------------------------

He is so infuriating. Him and all his one-word answers. He surely thinks little of me, since he has been able to do everything called of him, and I can't do that one thing I've been called to do. I would give the silent treatment too, if I were him.

After fuming for several minutes, I heard a knock on my door.

"Link! Hylia so help me I swear..." I swung open the door to let him have it for real, only to find Urbosa standing there.

"Oh Urbosa! I'm so very sorry!"

Urbosa laughed. "No worries, little bird. I got your note along my way here, want to talk about it? You seemed more than stressed."

"More than anything." I replied.

After letting her in the door, she sat on one of the couches. She patted the cushion next to her, signaling me to sit down. "Oh Urbosa, I'm worried I'll never access my sealing powers. Link has done everything he needed to with flying colors, and definitely thinks me a failure." I couldn't stop tears from starting to form. "I just...from the time I was young I've been trying to do my job, but each and every time I've failed."

Urbosa shook her head. "I'm sure he doesn't think you a failure, Zelda."

"I'm sure he does."

Urbosa shook her head again. "I'm sure that's not the case. Anything Purah and Robbie have discovered about ancient technology? I'm sure that's been going well?" I could tell she was trying to change the subject, but I let it go and went over to grab the slate from my study.

"Well, it turns on now," I started. "There's even a camera on here that can create true to life images. Robbie tried to see if there were pictures on it from before but hasn't been able to find anything. He did warn that Ganon is probably closer than we all would care to admit, due to the increase in monsters lately. Link and the other champions have been able to accomplish all their tasks. Which is what leads me to believe that Link probably finds me an utter failure. His silence speaks loudest."

"Again, I'm sure Link doesn't find you a failure. Both of you are so young, it's not fair to expect yourself to have everything under control just yet."

"He already has." I said begrudgingly.

"Okay, then it'll be you shortly after, then." Urbosa insisted. "Don't let your perception of the boy alter your perception of you. You are important, worthy, and capable. Just as your mother was."

At the mention of mother, whatever tears I had kept up let loose.

She was my teacher and best friend. If she hadn't died, perhaps I would already have saved Hyrule against the calamity...

Urbosa hugged me. "I miss her every single day. But you know, I see her in you more and more each day too." She lifted my chin to meet her gaze. "You will figure it out. But for now, let's celebrate, alright?"

"Celebrate? That's tomorrow."

"Why not celebrate life tonight, and the champions tomorrow? We can celebrate more than one night in a row." She reasoned.

Fair point.

"Alright, as long as there's fruitcake involved."
