Chapter 7

Your POV
I feel like I'm dying out here. I know I should go home but I really don't don't want to. I know I won't be able to play though. Benny would never let me on a day like today. Hell, I already feel like I could faint at any moment. "Benny..."I say quietly. I see him turn around and look at me. "Can you go get me the medicine out of my bag that your mom packed for me?" I ask. "Course bubs I'll be right back." He says and heads to go get me my medicine.

"I'm not trying to be rude but why do you start to feel sick bubbles?" Smalls asks me. "Long story short my aunt is abusive. Last year she hurt me really bad and I was in the hospital for a long time. She cause some neurological thing that basically if I get too hot it causes me to faint easily. I mean that can happen to anyone just it's easier for me. On days like today, when it's so hot, I can faint easily without even doing much." I say and he gives a sad look. I grab the cloth that Benny put on me and pulled it over my eyes.

After a couple of minutes I feel someone lightly tap me. "Here you go. I got you a water too." Benny says. I sit up and he puts his hand on my back. Once I had taken the two Tylenol I laid back down and Benny put the cloth back on my forehead. He must've dunked it in the ice again because it was cool. "

Where have you guys been? We've been waiting here for forever already." Benny said to Squints and Yeah-yeah I'm assuming. "Squints was pervin a dish." Yeah-yeah responded. "Shut up, I was not." Squints responded. "Yeah yeah you were. Your tongue was hanging out out of your head and you was swooning. Oh, Wendy Peffercorn, my darling lover girl." Yeah-yeah said and the guys started to laugh. "I said to shut up. I have a lot on my mind." Squints said and he sits down next to my feet with a soda. "You okay Bubs?" He asked me. I lift up my hand and give a thumbs up. I didn't feel like talking much.

"This pop ain't working Benny! I'm baking like a toaster cheeser. It's so hot out here." Ham said. He was right it was fucking hot. "It's like one hundred and fifty degrees out there. You can't play baseball. You have to call it a day man. Look at bubbles she doesn't feel good." Squints said. He was right I didn't feel good but Benny could play ball in any wether. Rain, snow, or shine he'd want to be playing. I could tell Benny wanted to play still but he was worried about me and he knew the guys were right. It was too hot.

"Let's take it to a vote then. Anbody who wants to be, a can't-hack-it,panty waste, who wears their mama's bra, raise your hand." Benny said. Everyone raised there hand including me. Benny came and sat down by my head. "Alright, so what are we going to do then?" The boys started to laugh and look at each other. "Scam pool honeys!" Everyone except for Benny and Smalls said. "Okay we can go to the pool. Meet there in an hour though. I'm gonna take bubbles home and let her cool down." All the guys started to agree and get up. "Well grab our stuff later tonight. How does that sound?" Benny asks as he puts one arm under my back and another under my knees. "Sounds great." I reply as he picks me up and I put my arms around his neck.

Bennys pov
I see that her aunt isn't home so I take bubbles to her house. "Can you stand for me for a bit?" I ask and I feel her shake her head yes. I set her down on her front porch and I grab the spare key which is under a specific rock. I unlock the door and then put the key back. I grab her hand and put my arm around her lower back. We go to the counter and I grab her some water. "Drink up." I say. I watch as she starts to drink the water taking little sips like she should. Once she finishes the glass she stands up and heads towards the direction of her room. I get up and follow her. She goes to sit down on her bed and shuts her eyes. I take this moment to admire her. Her gorgeous hair, light freckles that dust her temples, her hair that's wavy from the braids the night before, and even with the scratches she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.
