On October1989, Liana is in her fairy princess costume playing dress up with her older sister Lana. Mrs. Kent walks over to Liana and Lana and says, "Those are beautiful dresses, girls. Are you princesses?" Lana says, "We're fairy princesses." Liana says, "Do you wanna make a wish?" Mrs. Kent says, "I would love to make a wish." Liana says, "Okay. Abracadabra." Later, Aunt Nell comes outside to see all the commotion with Lana in her arms and Liana by the hand. Aunt Nell says, "What on God's earth!" Liana and Lana hear their mother say, "Hi, Lana. Hi Liana." Liana and Lana both say, "Mommy! Daddy!" Liana lets go of her aunts hand to run to her parents, but a meteorite comes down on them and Liana gets hurt by it. Aunt Nell yells, "Liana!" Aunt Nell goes to get Liana and grabs Lana to pull them in a hug. After the meteorite shower is over, Aunt Nell takes both Lana and Liana to Smallville general hospital. Lana is physically fine, but Liana's skin is ice cold and the doctor's don't know why, because on the inside of her body she's fine. They don't know how to warm her up, so Aunt Nell takes both of the girls home and Aunt Nell gives Liana a warm bath to warm her up. Aunt Nell called the doctor and told them that it's weird how a warm bath warmed her up, but the doctor's couldn't do anything about it. When Liana turned 6 she froze her birthday cake and Aunt Nell realizes that the meteorite gave Liana ice powers. Nell explained the danger of having her powers and that only her and Lana may know her secret.

Now, Liana's getting ready for her first day of freshman year of high school. Liana's putting on her necklace that has a rock from the meteorite shower. Every time she puts on the necklace she feels queasy, so she freezes it, so she can still wear without feeling sick. Lana yells, "Lia, Whitney's here." Liana yells, "Okay, I'm coming." Liana looks at her outfit one more time and grabs her purse and school books. Liana already ate breakfast before she got ready, but she grabs a apple out the door. Liana says, "Bye Nell." Nell says, "Bye Liana." Liana get's outside and see's Whitney leaning against his truck. Whitney says, "Hey." Liana says, "Hey." Liana gives Whitney a kiss and they both get into the car to go to school. They both get out and go to each other's friend group. As Liana is signing a friends yearbook she gasps, when she watches Clark trip. Liana runs up to help pick up his stuff and says, "Are you okay?" Clark says, "Yeah, I'm okay. You look nice today." Liana smiles and says, "Thanks." Whitney comes over and says, "Liana." Whitney leans down to kiss Liana and Clark is uncomfortable. Whitney says, "Hey, Clark. Lia, I was wondering if you could do me a humongous favor. 'could you check over my English paper? I didn't finish until 2AM. So I'm not too sure about the ending." Liana says, "Yeah I'll look it over, but I'm pretty sure it's pretty great." Whitney leans towards Clark and says, "Dude. Are you feeling okay? You look like you're about to-to hurl." Clark says, "I'm fine." Whitney picks up a book and says, "You forgot one, Clark." Clark tries to catch it, but it makes the rest of his stuff fall. Whitney wraps his arm around Liana and Liana gives a tight lipped smile at Clark and they both walk away to class. Afterschool, Liana's at cheer practice and Clark's on the bleachers watching her.
