Chapter 17: Reaper

Liana's working at the Talon. She's pouring coffee to a customer and she says, "Here you go." The customer says, "Thanks." Liana then gets a phone call and after the call she starts sobbing. Clark walks over and says, "Liana, what is it?" Liana says, "That was, that was Whitney's mom um, his dad just had another heart attack." Later, Liana and Clark go to the hospital to see Mr. Fordman. Mr. Fordman says, "Whitney is that you?" Liana says, "It's Clark Kent, Mr. Fordman." Mr. Fordman says, "Oh, Liana. Well, where's Whitney? I haven't seen my son yet." Liana says, "Don't worry, he'll be here soon." Mr. Fordman sighs and closes his eyes. Clark says, "Where is Whitney?" Liana says, "I don't know. His mom said he'd be here."

The next day at the Talon, Clark goes to see Liana and she says, "Clark, I heard what happened at Mobile Meaks. Is your mom okay?" Clark says, "Yeah." Liana says, "I can't believe Tyler would hurt anybody. He seemed so nice." Liana hands Clark a cup of coffee. Clark says, "If you run into him, whatever you do, don't let him touch you. Long story, just trust me." Liana nods and says, "Whitney phoned. He wanted to get together later and talk." Clark says, "That's great." Liana says, "I don't know what you said, but thank you. Gotta go." As Liana walks away, Lex passes her and says, "Hi, Liana." Liana says, "Lex." Later, Liana goes to the cemetery to see Whitney at her parents grave. Liana says, "Nell told me she saw you come out here." Whitney says, "Yeah. I just realized that in all that we've known each other I've never been here before." Liana softly says, "It's okay." Whitney says, "No, it's not. It's just, the thought of losing my parents was so awful. I didn't want to think about it." Liana says, "That's why you need to talk to your father. Go see him, Whitney. Make the best of the time he has left." Whitney hugs Liana and she hugs back. They pull away and Whitney says, "Thanks, Liana. I'm, uh, gonna go to the hospital. Do you want me to walk you home?" Liana says, "I think I'm gonna stay. I haven't been out here in a while." Whitney says, "Okay." Liana says, "Okay." Whitney kisses Liana's forehead and walks away. Liana stays for a little longer and then she starts walking away. Liana hears a noise and says, "Whitney?" Liana then turns around and gasps when she sees Tyler. Tyler says, "Hey, it's alright, I-I won't hurt you. I don't wanna hurt anyone, Liana. I only want to bring them peace. I heard your friend talking. He's father must be in terrible pain. I can help your friend." Liana turns her head when she hears birds making noise. Liana turns back to face Tyler, but he's gone. Liana then starts running and then she walks into the Torch. Liana says, "Clark, I just left Tyler in the graveyard." Clark says, "Are you okay?" Liana nods and says, "He heard Whitney talking about his father. He said he'd bring him to peace." Clark says, "Did you call the police?" Liana nods and watch's Clark leave. Liana says, "Where are you going?" Clark then runs away. Later, Liana's on the bench with Clark watching Whitney play for the Metropolis Sharks. Liana says, "How did he get the Metropolis Sharks to do it?" Clark says, "When your father owns the team then it's easier to pull some stings." Liana says, "It's strange all this time I never thought Lex even liked Whitney. And then he goes and arranges all this." Clark says, "I think Lex feels he's become part of our lives." Liana says, "I'd like to believe that. You asked him, didn't you?" Clark says, "Being friend with Lex Luthor can be complicated, but it has advantages." Liana smiles and kisses Clark's cheek. Clark says, "What was that for?" Liana softly smiles and says, "Just being you."
