Sam and Ashley had helped Maysilee back to the lodge. Mike and Chris had taken Josh somewhere. Ashley and Maysilee sat on the couch as Sam went to get a first aid kit to help properly clean up Maysilee injuries.
Sam focused on cleaning the wound on her leg first. "What did he do to you?"
Maysilee sighed "First I got burnt in the sanitarium with Mike, then he just stabbed me with the scissors Ashley used on him."
Sam nodded and Ashley looked at Maysilee, "How'd you figure out it was Josh?" She asked.
"He called me M during our fight before I was unconscious. He's the only one who's ever called me M before. I don't think he meant to say it either. Just habit for him I guess." Maysilee said, "Though he hasn't called me that which seems like forever."
Sam sighed "Yeah I remember he used to call you that all the time." Sam said, smiling "Alright you should be good, at least until we can get off this mountain."
Maysilee sighed "I can't believe Josh is the psycho." She admitted, "He didn't invite us up here to grieve he invited us up here for revenge. That's fucked up. He didn't even think about the fact of us grieving."
She didn't say it but she wanted to, the fact that, Sam and Chris weren't part of the prank and they've gotten a worse round of stuff than she made her feel terrible. Maybe Josh was just going insane, maybe he didn't take his meds. Or maybe he just wanted to kill them as they did to his sisters. Maysilee hoped the boys would find something out. "Does anyone know what happened to Matt and Emily? I haven't seen them since we all split up to figure stuff out?" Ashley questioned.
She was right, none of us heard or seen the two of them in a while, "No I haven't, oh god I hope they're okay." Maysilee recalled.
"Where did they go?" Sam asked.
"After Josh was sawed in half," Ashley started, "Oh pretended to be, the three of us ran into the two of them on their way back from the lodge." Ashley looked at Maysilee for the rest.
Maysilee nodded hesitantly "Well they asked why there was blood on Ashley. So we told them. Emily decided she and Matt would go look for a way off the mountain for everyone else. Send Chris and Ashley to get you and I went to find Mike and Jess at the guest cabin, but they weren't there so I just followed the footprints and blood-"
Sam nodded "Keep the details." Sam said softly and leaned back into the couch. Josh chased me down into that place below the lodge."
"Jesus he moves fast. I couldn't be much time between him sawing himself and a half and him chasing you." Maysilee pointed out.
"What are you saying?" Ashley asked.
"What he did was messed up, very messed up." She made sure to tell them, "But think about it, how smart he was to be able to pull it all off."
"Or maybe we are just really dumb?" Ashley suggested.
Maysilee looks at her and smiles, "Or that." She admitted, "Anyways Ash after we get out of here are you and Chris finally gonna get down to business."
Ashley was taken aback by Maysie's question, and Sam was intrigued "What do you mean?" Ashley asked, chuckling.
"Oh my god you are really this oblivious," Maysilee muttered, "You guys literally admitted your love for each other, not even half an hour ago Cmon Ash! You guys could finally be the sweetest couple!"
Ashley smiled sheepishly "He didn't say-" she tried to come up with an excuse but ultimately gave up and sighed heavily.
Maysilee grinned and looked at Sam who was smiling, "No excuses from Ashley this time." Sam teased.
Ashley crossed her arms "Yeah yeah you win!"
Someone suddenly knocked on the door, "Guys it's me!" Chris said from outside. Ashley rushed to open the door for Chris and let him in.
The two of them walked to the couch together "Were Mike?" Maysilee asked right as he got in the room.
"He's still with Josh, gonna stay there for a night to make sure he doesn't escape. Then we'll see if Emily and Matt got ahold of anyone to rescue us tomorrow. He just sent me back."
Maysilee let a worried expression grow on her face, "Shit okay..." she mumbled until all four of them heard a scream.
They all jumped up and ran to the door. "Open the door let me in!" Emily screamed as her figure came in view "Hurry! Please quick!"
"It's Emily let her in!" Ashley shouted and Maysilee opened the door for Emily.
When Emily got to the door she collapsed inside and crawled backward into Sam and Ashley who comforted her "Shut it! Shut the door quickly! It was right behind me!" Emily begged. Maysilee quickly slammed the door shut.
They all rushed to the couch "Emily what the hell is going on?"
"It's a monster! A monster it almost killed me oh my god..." Emily sobbed quietly.
"Monster?" Maysilee questioned, "What do you mean monster?"
Chris frowned "Where's Matt?" He asked.
Emily shook her head "We couldn't get into the cable car so we walked to the fire tower and got ahold of some people, the tower collapsed and he tried to save me... I think he's dead..."
"What?" Ashley covered her mouth nervously.
"He-he's dead!" Emily started crying again, "But the fucking monster, I don't even know how to explain it." She looked around at us, I saw- I saw Beth's head."
Maysilee stared at her "What?"
"Oh god!" Ashley looked away, sobbing.
"Beth... Beth's head..." Emily whispered, "That's all I know."
"I think I'm gonna be sick..." Maysilee said rushing to the kitchen sink to throw up, and she did. She never fully believe Beth was dead but now there was no way Beth could be alive. She let a few tears fall from her eyes before wiping her mouth and walking back to the living room. They all just stared at her and didn't ask or say anything.
Suddenly Mike burst in the door, "Mike thank god." Maysilee jumped to her feet to walk over to him, he rushed to her, hugging her tightly. "I was so worried, are you alright. Where's Josh?"
"I left him in the shed- I heard someone scream so I came here-" Mike looked around, "Em?"
Emily looked up, "I screamed, I uh-" she was cut off by a loud banging on the door.
"Who the hell is that?" Maysilee questioned.
"Should we check it out?" Mike asked.
"Well yes, what if it's Matt or Jess?" Chris asked.
"It's not!" Mike shouted, "It's not Jess- she's dead-"
Chris frowned and sighed "Either way we should check it out." Chris and Mike walked to the door.
