>Jaemin's POV

"Mr. Lee, I have gathered the data that you've asked from the Choi's. And from what I've analyzed, these do not make sense as to how they've raised their sales. Not to mention the value of their mansion and other properties that were previously in mortgage due to the company's bankruptcy."

Mrs. Kang stated as she placed the folders in front of the man.

Mr. Lee alongside Jeno and Jaemin looked at the information that the papers in front of him held. He looked at the woman and moved on with their plan.

"Let's bring this to the officials." She nodded and proceeded to begin the process of filing a report.

"Wait, will my dad be in danger?"

"I hope he won't be. As long as he stays honest- I'm sure he'll be questioned by the police if we ever find some dirt on the Choi's. But from the looks of it, there is."

A few days later...

As the passing hours have been busy for the Lees as well as Jaemin, they've been restless after receiving a call from the officials.

It was currently a few minutes after midnight, and they were seated in the living room, gathered together as they anticipate the result of their hard work.

It's either they succeeded in potentially catching a cheat or they wasted all their time on this and Jaemin is yet to be married to someone he doesn't love.

"Yes, hello?" Mr. Lee answered as he quickly put the call on speaker.

"Any news about Mr. Choi?" Mrs. Lee intervened as she too couldn't wait any longer.

"Well, your suspicions were true after all. Mr. Choi has been involved in a serious drug business since his company went bankrupt. He's apparently one of the drug lords. This means, not only do we have to interrogate those who have been involved with him, but we also have to question Mr. Na, his current business partner."

At the end of that long statement, everyone in the room smiled. Their hard work paid off after all.

By the time this comes out in the news, Jaemin's dad will surely call off the wedding plans. It wouldn't be a waste even if he did- since they didn't get to plan it, as his mother kept on making excuses on why the wedding should be pushed back.

"But so far from the investigation, it seems like Mr. Na has been clueless of what was going on."

Jaemin couldn't have been more proud of this. He knew that if his father found out about the drugs, he won't pair up with Mr. Choi, he plays the game fair and square.

"We have detained Mr. Choi for further investigation, but as of now, it seems like his lawyer can't do much about it, I'll take my leave, Mr. Lee, I'll keep you posted."

...

"Jaem!" Haneul exclaimed, opening the door wider as her hands hooked around my waist.

She was wearing the hoodie that I gave her, and frankly, it looked better on her than it did on me.

I walked inside of their apartment, with her still hugging me, as I closed the door behind me to hug her back.

It felt nice, this was definitely something I needed after what the exhausting stress-filled hours caused me.

Although I'm not complaining, Haneul being this clingy is something that you would see almost, never.

Plus, I'm the clingy and affectionate one in this relationship

"You, okay?" I asked.

"Why?" She looked up from my chest, her left arm still around me as the other fixed the position of her glasses.

I can't help but break into a grin. "You're cute aren't you?" I cooed as I squished her cheeks in between my palms.

Her lips protruded out as I gave her a quick peck.

"I was just...worried. You've been busy all week because of Areum's dad- which I totally get why, but you must be so tired... it did pay off though."

"I know you're thinking more than that, c'mon just talk." I said as I walked behind her on our way to the kitchen.

"Do you want ramen?" She suddenly asked, reaching for the top cabinet where the packets were. "Sure."

I simply replied as I walked beside her, who was struggling a bit. "Need help?"

>Haneul's POV

"Need help?" I looked at him and immediately glared.

His face says it all. He was smirking, heck if he was talking right now he'd say, "Need some height? Cuz I know you lack a bit of it."

But I shook my head and jumped to reach for the packets. "See? I'm a strong independent woman." I proudly grinned, as I began to open them.

"Says the one who was clinging onto me a while ago. You just missed me which I don't blame you for." I rolled my eyes at his response and prepared the water for the noodles.

"But jokes aside, are you okay?" I asked him, it's true that I missed him so much, and we haven't been able to see each other. Yet, I'm more so concerned about his health, in general.

Is he emotionally okay? What is he thinking right now? Is the pressure too much? Is he-

"So that's why you're clingy..." He replied, stepping closer to where I was. I stood up straighter and looked at him.

"Actually..." he started, but as he did he pulled on the strings of the hoodie, as he gathered my hair and pushed it back.

"I plan on talking to dad after this. I want to fix our relationship." He said, a hint of sadness and nervousness hanging on his words.

He placed the hood over my head and tied the string into a bow. "I've taken your suggestions, and you're right."

During the days when he was quite busy, we would text each other, and his dad came up to topic. I tried to convince him that he should talk it out with him.

He needs to reconcile with him, and he also wants it but is too afraid to do so.

"I wish you good luck– just be honest with him, and try not to come back here with a bruise, yeah?"

"I'll make sure that won't happen."
