Lin
"Could you have picked a worse day to show up?" I ask her, my face twisting in frustration.
"I could have but that wouldn't have been very fun." She replies, her deep green eyes setting on my face. Always ready to pounce.
"Whatever you want to do, it can't ruin what I have here. I made it, Charlotte." I test her patience, nothing else to do while I wait to hear the news about my best friend.
"You made it, but what happens when the world finds out your secret?" She hisses at him.
"What secret? You haven't know me for years! What's my fucking secret??" I shout at her.
       "That you're a fa-"
I clap my hand over her face.
"Don't you say that, you cunt!"
Then the hospital doors open.   Out steps Anthony, eyes widened at my outward display of anger.
"Lin? Who is that? What's going on?" He asks all the questions quickly in a row.
"She's some one that I haven't know for a while." I answer and give him a tight-lipped smile. There isn't much I can say that won't send her into a rant about why she hates me and why she's going to attempt to ruin my life.. AGAIN.
"Is she your ex or something??" He asks, his eyes flickering between me and the bitch.
"Oh sweet jesus, noo no no." Charlotte answers for me. Disgust painted all over her stupid pinchy face.
"Lin can you just come back in with me, please. Unless this is important or whatever." Anthony mumbles, looking away from the tense situations unfolding in front of him.
"Yeah. She doesn't need me for anything important." I add in the second part just to be passive aggressive and hopefully grind her gears just a little bit.

Anthony

How fucking weird. Either they are lying about being exes or Lin has a strange past. I've never seen him talk to somebody that way, and never seen someone that didn't love him.  Strange.  My trust in him falters, maybe I know him less than I thought.  Or maybe she's crazy.  I guess I will find out when I find our.
Lin does follow me back inside at least.  That sort of reassures me. He probably has nothing to hide. Therefore, I have nothing to worry about.

The next day

I have something to worry about. Not Lin, he's an angel.  It's Groff, obviously I'm not his closest friend in the show but he's still my friend.  The recovery process is supposedly going to be long.  Like, year or more long.  I've never been injured enough to need a year long recovery, and I am super clumsy.
Groff needs a long recovery time because the injury completely smashed all the bones in his foot and lower leg. Meaning, his ability to walk will be gone for months, then learning to move on it again will take months.  His foot was fixed a lot during surgery but doctors can't just snap their fingers and fix everything.  His bones need to be set and take time to heal.  The injury did extend up his leg a bit but not as severe as they thought it would be.
The fact that recovery is possible is enough for all of us, he's part of our family.  I'm part of this family.  We all belong together.  Even if I feel different at times, even if me and Lin are keeping a secret and even if Groff is out of the show for a year.  We are a family beyond the stage.
