Chapter 7

**Connors POV**

My eye went in and out of focus, my last line sitting in front of me the light pink crystals taunting me. My mind was so hazed I couldn't focus on one thing, my muscles clenching then relaxing I could hear my heart beating fast. I bent over the table and snorted my last line. Then leaned into the couch breathing deep, letting that god damn drug take over my body once again, and maybe even taking over my life.

**Brittney's POV**

I got back to the room and sat on the bed where James was laying down and the TV was still on. Staring at its screen I eventually fell asleep. Sarah woke me up by shaking my shoulder.

"Wake up I have to change your bandages and help ya have a bath. You also have to take your medicine" she smiled down at me. Today she's wearing a nice blue dress with white lace lining the hem, her short brown hair dripping probably from a fresh shower. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and followed her to the bathroom, I gasped at the site of the plush big shiny bathroom.

"Ok so the doctor told me to give you baths for a couple of weeks and wash your back gently" she explained turning to the bath tub and spinning one of the handles as water shot out of the faucet. Sarah had everything all organized the bottles lined in a row and a clean face cloth folded in the corner.

"Don't worry I will be gentle" a promising smile on her face, I nodded not sure what to do. I swayed from side to side looking at the floor until I heard the water stop. I looked up and saw Sarah smiling at me, a nice reassuring smile. I sighed and got undressed the clasp for the bandage was in the back so I couldn't reach it so Sarah helped me. I sucked in a quick breath as the cool air hit my burns. I stepped into the bath and the water was perfect, I turned my back to Sarah so she could wash it.

"I'm going to wash your hair first ok?" she said filling a cup full of the water. I didn't know what it was going to feel like so I pulled my knees up to my chest and hugged them. She poured the water slowly but as soon as it hit my back I winced and moved away.

"It's gonna hurt hun. There pretty bad burns" I heard the shampoo bottle being opened and then Sarah rubbed my head massaging it into my hair, I almost fell asleep. "ok time to rinse" I closed my eyes as the water went down my head I arched my back away but it was no use, I let out a whimper. Sarah rubbed my arm giving it a squeeze, I'm happy that she's the one helping me.

"Alright I'll put the conditioner in and while it sits I'll give you some pri--"I cut her off

"No please stay" I begged, what if someone came in? What would happen?

"Ok, I'll be right here," she smiled and put the conditioner in my hair. Then went to the counter pulling out a brush and brushed her hair. I sighed in relief and washed up once I was done I went through the painful process of rinsing. Sarah grabbed the wash cloth and started patting my back with a special wash, which was probably the most painful of all. With constant breaks, I still couldn't bare it I was clutching the bath tub with all my might. I pushed myself to the corner in tears.

"Brittney the faster we get this done the less it will hurt I promise" Sarah said rubbing her thumb over my cheek; I had a couple of tears streaming out of my eyes. With a sigh I turned back around, and braced myself. The wash cloth patted my shoulder, and through my pounding heart beats in my ears I could hear Sarah humming. And oddly it was calming.

** Unknown POV**

I could smell it from here, pain shot through me and the need became too strong. With my speed I was at the house. In a matter of minutes I was standing in front of two drugged up kids. I saw the baggie on the dresser some left just enough for one. I grabbed it but not before I wrote a note to him.
