Secret's Out. Now What?

"Hey, uh, Giulia?" Sofia looked at her worriedly. "How long d'you think we're gonna be here?"

Tapping the handle bar, Giulia replied, "Uh...not long! D-don't worry, guys, we won't be stuck here forever!"

Luca didn't say anything, he just buried his face in his knees as he continuously thought of Al. He was starting to grow worried, hoping that Alberto would be back soon.

Does he know we're stuck up here?
Is he looking for us?
What if something happened to him?

Luca sighed with frustration, I can't stand this...

As if she read Luca's mind, Sofia asked Giulia, "Um...where's Alberto? Shouldn't he have been out of the bathroom like a while ago?"

Sweating, Giulia responded, "U-uh, I'm not sure! He might be looking for us, no way would he just leave without us! Don't panic, everything will be ok!"

Sofia sighed, leaning back. The three didn't say anything else.

Ten Minutes Later

"I hope Papa isn't worried..." muttered Giulia, looking down at her feet.

Smiling softly, Sofia said to her, "Well, at least we'll have a cool story to tell our friends back at school!"

If we even make it off here alive... thought Luca.

After a few seconds, Luca jumped up as he suddenly felt a thump on the left side of the ride and heard Giulia yelling. Sitting up, he looked around frantically to see what was happening, and after seeing the shocked looks on Giulia's and Sofia's faces, he slowly turned in the direction they were looking at.

Luca's mouth immediately dropped open when he saw Alberto hanging onto the side of the Roller Coaster. "Sup," he grinned, climbing over and sitting beside Luca.

"WHA- I-" Giulia stared, speechless.

"HOW?!" shouted Sofia, eyes wide.

"Ah don't worry about it," Al shrugged, waving his hand at them.

Luca was at a loss for words. All he could do was stare at Alberto with a dumbfounded look on his face. He could then feel tears in his eyes.

"ALBERTO!" Luca jumped onto Al, hugging him tight.

"Woah-" Al flinched, startled.

"WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN? I WAS WORRIED, Al!" Luca yelled through muffled sobs, pulling his shirt.

Holding Luca, Al replied in a frantic tone, "Woah, woah, it's ok, Luca! I'm here now! I just wanted to do something real quick, I wanted to-"

Luca cut him off, "You wanted to what?! What could've been more important than being here?!"

Silent, Alberto slowly held up the stuffed animal dog in front of him. Wiping his eyes, Luca stared at it, confused. "W...what?"

"It's yours, dude," Al smiled, holding it to Luca's chest. "I really wanted to get it for you, so...here."

Taking it, Luca looked at it some more and ran his fingers through its fur. Sniffling, Luca asked in a shaky voice, "W...why?"

Blushing, Alberto replied, "B-because..."

He noticed Giulia giving him a hopeful smile. She nodded her head at him, meaning, "Go for it".

Al was starting to get nervous now. Laughing loudly, he wrapped his arm around Luca, ruffling his hair. "Because you're my best friend, duh! C'mon, Luca, don't act dumb! Haha!"
