Soon enough, there were a few knocks on the door, they were very faint, but since had been waiting for it he sprung to his feet, running to the door.
Throwing it open, he was met with the red eyes of Jaehyun who threw himself into Sunwoo's arms, tears falling down his face.
Sunwoo brought him inside and took him to his room, sitting him down on his bed.
"Come on, tell me what happened." Sunwoo announced, rubbing comforting circles on his back. Trying to calm him down from the tears that fell one after another.
"I got home and my parents saw the bruises, my dad got so angry, but until he heard the reason why he said that I deserved it!" Jaehyun sobbed, his chest aching. Sunwoo frowned and brought Jaehyun closer to his chest.
"Who told them?" Sunwoo questioned, feeling his shirt begin to get soaked as Jaehyun cried.
"It's okay Jaehyun, calm down." Sunwoo reassured him, but Jaehyun's breath kept getting sparse as he panicked with anxiety.
"Jaehyun calm down." Sunwoo announced once more wrapping his arms tighter around the other.
Halting his actions Jaehyun was unable to move any further. Jaehyun continued to cry, but his face was pressed against Sunwoos chest, causing his sounds to be muffled.
Not long after the sniffles that once came out his nose began to soften and his breathing was stable. Knowing he was finally asleep, Sunwoo placed Jaehyun in his bed, tucking him in.
He began to walk out, but a groan came from Jaehyun as he reached out for Sunwoo.
He quickly walked back and took Jaehyun's hand in his, smoothing his thumb of his smooth skin.
"It's alright, you're safe, go to sleep." Sunwoo whispered to Jaehyun. Jaehyun soon enough visibly relaxed and he was finally in a deep sleep.
Sunwoo smiled at his sleeping face, guilt building up as he stared. A tear ran down his own face, feeling an incredible sadness for his new friend.
If only, if only this wasn't such a concern for homosexuals.
He felt pain for Jaehyun, a poor innocent boy, practically kicked out of his home, left on the streets.
Walking out of his room, he shut the door slowly. His mum peered out from the living room and waved him over.
"Is your friend okay?" She asked, her brows pulled together in a frown. Nodding Sunwoo left the room, needing a break from everything.
Staring out at the now orange sky, he let the sun shine down in his face.
But the peace was long gone when he returned to his reality, he wandered back to his room and checked on Jaehyun who still slept soundly.
He formed his own bed and fell asleep on the ground, exhausted and drained.
Waking up, it was bright in the morning, the light burned through his curtains and he finally got up, glancing to the side expecting to see Jaehyun, but was met with an empty bed.
Getting up, he ran out to his kitchen, his mother not there as she had already gone to work. And as he looked everywhere in the house.
Running back his room there was a note placed on the desk, ripping it open it read:
'Thank you for letting me stay for the night, thank you for welcoming me and helping me. But I have to go, I can't stay here anymore.'
Pausing, Sunwoo didn't know how to breathe. He caught back his breath but he couldn't help but tear up at the loss of Jaehyun.
It's not like he's dead, but he's gone, almost the same thing. Because it means he can come back and isn't gone for good.
Placing the note in his drawer he laid on his bed, calming himself down before his phone rang.
"Hey bitch, get over to Eric's." The voice called, but Sunwoo didn't know if he had it in him to leave the house, he was almost mourning the loss of if his friend.
