Sorrow
—
Chanhee stood at the bridge, a bouquet of flowers held in his hands.
Today was the funeral.
He slowly dropped the bouquet into the crashing water, the way they splattered into the water made him flinch.
He headed towards the church, wearing a black suit to match everyone else who had turned up.
He walked forward and sat down at the pew, staring at the picture of Sunwoo that stood at the front.
Sunwoo's mother sat in front of Sunwoo, just as numb as he had felt.
The priest began talking as Haknyeon sat beside Chanhee, holding his hand. He had arrived late, Younghoon following not long after.
Eric and Juyeon sat beside Sunwoo's mother, Eric slightly cuddled up for comfort, not wanting to let his friend go. Tears slowly falling from everyone's eyes.
The doors opened making a loud clang, and someone walked through, head down as they sat at the back of the church.
Jaehyun hadn't been in town, but the news of Sunwoo committing suicide was all over social media, he had to return.
To mourn the loss of someone who treated him normally, who looked after him.
Tears spilled from his eyes and he covered his mouth, trying to not sob.
Sunwoo's mother finally walked up to the podium, taking a couple notes from her pocket and began to read.
Talking through Sunwoo's happy moments and the times he was down.
She paused and flicked onto another sheet, it was still closed and had writing on top of it.
"Sunwoo actually wrote this, saying to read it at his funeral, so here I go." She choked, knowing that these were her son's final words on a piece of crumpled paper.
"I'm sorry, to everyone. But I'm not sorry for falling in love with a guy, I really love him and even in the afterlife I won't forget how he made me feel, my heart could power a hundred houses for a year just by how fast it beated every time I saw him." She began, glancing every so often to the crowd.
Chanhee's face screwed up uncomfortably as he tried to not break out into sobs.
His bottom lip trembled and he leaned down, shoving his face into his hands, sobbing.
"I will never stop looking for you Hyunjae, I still walk the ground everyone walks on, and I want to see you again, it may not be now, but it will be soon enough. Mama, stop working and take a break, I love you." Sunwoo's mother started crying and covered her mouth.
"Juyeon, treat Eric right, you may not be gay like me, but you defiantly have a good connection, and I envy that. But I know you guys, so cut the bullshit and be free, be happy. New, I love you." His mother concluded, folding the piece of paper back up.
Chanhee still had his face down and didn't want to look back, he was choked up and was a mess, he loves him too.
Jaehyun furrowed his eyes and shook his head, refusing to admit that Hyunjae was him, he caused so much trouble in Sunwoo's life which shouldn't have happened.
His mother stepped down and sat beside Juyeon who held a sobbing Eric.
They all got themselves together and carried out Sunwoo's casket, watching as it dropped six feet down into the ground.
Chanhee chucked in a rose along with many others. Before running back into Haknyeon's arms again. The wake was quiet.
The only people who talked were quiet whispers of apologies.
Chanhee sat in a chair, watching the ground. And patted his head, feeling anxious.
"You were New, weren't you?" He heard a voice whisper, and looking beside him sat Eric and Juyeon, along with Haknyeon and Younghoon.
Nodding his head he let the final tears drop down his face, wishing he could go back.
