Wybie's POV
"Goddamnit, why did I call her that?!" I whisper-shouted to myself, beating myself up about the awkward encounter I escaped (in one piece!). There were two girls, Car- I mean Coraline, and (Y/N). Coraline, a water witch, of who I'm not entirely fond of. But it is fun to annoy her.
And (Y/N), the sister of the witch, who doesn't inhabit any of her sister's weirdness. She seemed cool, a bit protective of Coraline maybe, making me infer that (Y/N) is the eldest.
My tires screeched to a halt as I arrived at the apartment, waving to Bob as I parked up the bike. I sighed while undoing my coat, unzipping it and turning the handle on the front door.
"I'm home, Gramma!" I called out, taking off my shoes and flinging them with the rest of the pairs. I walked into the living room to where my Grandma was, watching TV at the lowest volume possible. She seemed really tired, so she just gave me a weak wave
Her body became weaker and weaker as she drifted to sleep on the couch, her snores were loud and gunky. I went to the fridge and grabbed a drink, my mouth dry and begging for moisture (Yeah I wish I didn't write that)
I walked through the living room once more to turn of the TV, as soon as the screen went black Grandma shot up
"Put that back on, I was watching that." I chuckled and did so, only to watch her fall asleep again. Old people are confusing.
"Do you still want me to clean out your trunk, Gramma?" I asked, only to receive some snores for an answer. I sighed and shrugged, taking that as a yes. I grabbed my coat and slipped it back on as I walked outside, going over to her car with the keys in hand.
I lifted the lid and examined the boot, some cardboard boxes, plastic bags with old clothes and some black-and-white pictures. I felt a bit nosy and picked inside each of the boxes when I removed them from the trunk.
Most of them contained more black and white pictures, surprisingly I found a few with color. Some of Grandma when she was younger, some family in her side.. mom and dad. But what stuck out to me was these dolls.
"What the.." I trailed off as I picked up two dolls, one with memorable (h/l) (h/c) with a black overall skirt and the other doll having short familiar blue hair with a yellow raincoat.
"How did.. when.. who.." I stuttered in complete confusion. I stared at the dolls, which had two black buttons for eyes, seemingly staring back at me.
"(Y/N) doll and Coraline doll.." I whispered as questions filled my head, did Grandma make them? But how are they identical to the real thing if Grandma hasn't met them yet. Was this just pure coincidence? That seems hard to believe.
I decided that I've had enough for today and left the trunk, slamming the lid shut. However, I brought the dolls with me. I jogged to my room and shut the door, I placed the dolls on my desk and sat on the edge of my bed.
I couldn't take my eyes off the dolls, especially (Y/N)'s. That made me think of our encounter today. Peach.. shit, that was so awkward! I groaned in embarrassment as I gripped my head slightly, my face growing hot at the memory.
After a few minutes of self-loathing, I went to my laptop to distract myself and do some research on slugs. Maybe tomorrow I'll go hunting! Oh, did you know that it's one of the slowest creatures on Earth, moving at a maximum speed of six and a half inches per minute?
I scrolled and scrolled through multiple websites, detailing everything about the slimy gastropod, although that was interrupted with a faint knock on my window. I lifted the blinds and smiled at the little black cat outside the window.
"Time for dinner, eh buddy?" He nodded in response
"Okie dokie, let's go" I carried him like a baby, resting in my arms as I made my way to the kitchen.
"Okay, so on the menu tonight is going to be a surprise. I bought this like mixture of different meats, but don't worry, you still got your favourite dry food" I informed the cat, as he stared at me with big blue eyes.
I plopped him down and served him his dinner, stroking his fur as he munched away.
"Don't listen to that blue haired witch, telling you that you're mingy. However, it would be funny if you scratched her." I snickered at the thought
"Actually, talking about those two, I found these dolls that look exactly like them!" I told the cat, his head snapped towards me with wide eyes.
"What? Is the food not good?" I guessed by his expression, he just squinted and continued eating. I shrugged to myself
"Well.. alright then, I'll let you eat in peace. Goodnight" I waved at the cat and walked away, going to my room.
