Your POV

"(Y/n), wake up! I hear there's a secret well here, let's go!" Coraline shook me repeatedly, I just groaned and rolled over onto my other side, facing away from her. I heard her sigh and stomp like a pouty child.

"Pleeaasseee, there's nothing to do here!" She pleaded, it was my turn to sigh. I flipped back round and glared at her, my thumb and index finger formed a bridge on my nose as it scrunched up in annoyance.

"Fuckin'.. fine, let me get dressed" I fell victim to her begs, her eyes lit up and she grinned

"Yay! I'll see you downstairs!" She hollered, walking out of the bedroom with a bounce in her step. I watched the blue haired girl exit the room before I swung the covers off of me. The thin sheets brought a cold draft upon me and I shivered.

My bare feet touched the icy wooden flooring, goosebumps rising from my toes to my chest. I slowly stood up, my mind foggy and body freezing as I walked over to my suitcase.

"Too thick.. too thin.. too bright" I mumbled amongst myself as a pile of clothes formed behind me, until I stumbled upon a fresh, snow white blouse. I placed that on my bed and continued to search. I then pulled out a small black skirt with overalls, placing that next to the blouse on my bed.

I buttoned up the blouse and stepped into the skirt, sliding the overalls onto my shoulders.I slipped on some long black socks that stopped beneath my knees and sprayed a bit of perfume, I left the bedroom after brushing my hair and went to the toilet for my morning piss. I entered the kitchen and searched the fridge for some thing to eat. Nothing.

"You'd expect at least a crumb of something, at least!" Coraline exclaimed, I nodded in agreement. We searched every inch of the kitchen; every cupboard, every shelf, every drawer. Unfortunately, there was absolutely nothing.

"How far are the shops from here?" I asked, she stared into space as she thought.

"Uhh.. I don't know, like a fifteen minute walk maybe?" She answered, I made a mental note to nip to the shops tomorrow and use some spending money to get some drinks and snacks. Coraline and I gave up our search for food and left it. I decided to have a quick swig of some tap water as Coraline went to the door to get her shoes on.

"Come on, let's go!" I hear Coraline call out, I sigh and jog to the door. I slipped on some shoes and we left. The ground was muddy and wet, and the sky was covered with different gradients of grey clouds. Yet, no rain seemed to spill.

"So, what's the plan little witch?" I questioned Coraline

"Ok, so, first of all we need a dowsing rod. That is easy enough to find." She answered, snapping a twig that was attached to a withered bush. She continued

"We need this rod to find the well, now all we got to do is let it take us" She raised the branch, pointing it to the sky, she seemed to be dragged along by the stick - going the direction it faces. I just followed her, and watched as her imagination does it's magic.

We were lead to a thin, narrow dirt path. It was quite a nice scene actually, the Pink Palace was in the distance as the clouds swirled around the apartment. Some clouds could be mistaken for smoke, due to it's thick, heavy color. The wind kicked up dry, crispy, lifeless leaves along with the smell of rain, mixed with the fresh air of the countryside.

The soft silence was interrupted with a suspicious scuttle behind some rocks, Coraline and I shared a curious glance. She picked up a stone and threw it towards the source, earning a gnarly wine. We gasped and booked it, thankfully not slipping or tripping along the way.

We huffed and puffed for air, hands resting on our knees as we tried to catch our breath

"*Huff* what.. the hell was that?!" Coraline panted

"No clue *puff*, sounded like a cat though" I managed to reply, my lungs feeling as if they were being crushed.

"Come on, the well should be somewhere here" I continued, she nodded and we carried on, once again walking down the rest of the pathway. We entered an opening, an orchard. And there stood a small tree stump accompanied by the small heads of white-dotted mushrooms of which formed a circle in front of the stump. Odd.

"Perhaps it's somewhere here" I suggested and she nodded in agreement, us both looking around. We heard a cranky "Meow!" From behind us and jumped. Coraline screamed before scowling at the cat. His eyes were a sapphire shade of blue, black slits for pupils which stared at us intensely. His fur, dark as the night, appeared a bit untamed, maybe the poor kitty was wild.

"You scared me to death you mingy thing!"

"Bruh leave him alone" I told her, walking over to the cat to stroke him. My fingers brushed out some dirt and grime within his coat of fur

"We are looking for an old well, know it?" Coraline questioned, expecting an answer. I rose an eyebrow at her

"Not talking, huh?" She sighed and closed her eyes as she walked around in a circle with her dowsing rod pointing high in the sky, I took a step back as I watched Coraline chant this weird witchy thing, the Cat and I just looked on as she recited the words she researched a few days before moving here.

"Magic dowser, magic dowser.. show me, the well!" She shouted into the cloudy sky, the wind seemed to pick up speed and grew stronger. Suddenly, we both jumped at the erupt screech of a horn.
