We we're walking back home now, it was quite a good day to be honest - I rose to the top of popularity quite fast, I'm more popular than those other two cunts! What were their names again? Stella and Andrea? Eh, doesn't matter anymore, I'm the school queen motherfucker!
All of the others were gone and went home, so now it was just me, Wybie, and Coraline. We passed the sign which read "Pink Palace Apartments" in pink, cursive writing.
"Home at last, can't wait to see those nasty ass hoebags again" I mumbled sarcastically, Wybie looked at me worriedly
"Maybe you should be careful, they seem like the type to crush heads in-between lockers"
"I am the one that crushes heads in lockers, plus what is there to be worried about? Their 'popularity'? It's me that's popular now! They can't do jack shit" I waved my arms around while walking
"This isn't about popularity, dumbass. What this weirdo means is that they are two crazy bitches. If you leave your uniform in the changing room then they will most likely burn it, leave your drink on your desk then they will spit in it, etc etc.." Coraline budged in, I just rolled my eyes
"I'm smart enough to know whether spit is in my drink, their breath reek of the dicks they suck before school every morning" I retorted.
"(Y/n).." Wybie sighs, facepalming
"What? Just saying" We stood outside of the apartment and Wybie sighed, upset about something but I'm not sure what
"Welp, I guess we should get going. Bye weirdo" Cory waved as she walked away
"Sorry about her attitude, gets it from me" I apologized with a soft smile. Wybie's cheeks turned a tad bit red and he gulped quietly, we were alone
"No no, it's fine. I get it. Hey, uh.. m-maybe I call you sometime? You still h-have my number, right?" He asked, my heart pounded slightly harder
"Yes, I'll text you tonight" I answered, his smile beamed brightly. I heard Coraline calling out my name in the distance and I groaned. I regained my composure and smiled at the boy in front of me
"See you tomorrow, Wybie" I waved at him and he waved back
"Goodbye, Peach"
Time Skip - Wybie's POV
It was pouring an hour later, the sky growing darker as it reached night time. It was the perfect time to have a walk, a walk to think about things. Gramma was asleep, and I didn't want to wake her up to get her permission.
I sighed and slipped on my coat before walking into the rain, I heard a tiny "meow" below me and looked down
"Hello there buddy, want to go on a walk with me?" I received another "meow" and took it as a yes. I picked him up and placed him inside my coat to keep him warm and dry and we went on our way.
The thick mud sloshed around with each step, my feet sinking a little bit when I walked. The rain was very soothing and calmed my mind down as I reached my favorite spot to think, the well.
"This is our stop, little guy" I told the cat as he jumped out from my coat, I sat down on a rock and placed my hands on my knees. I breathed a disheartened sigh
"I don't know what I want, do I ask her out? Do I wait for her to ask me? Is Caroline just trying to get me to embarrass myself?" The cat stared at me for a few moments before devouring a mouse in front of me
"Are these feelings real? Like, I've only just met her! Fucking hell.." I groaned, scratching my head irritably. (Y/n) is a nice girl, she's pretty, she's kind (well, to me at least), she's smart.. she's everything a guy would want, really. But she's popular, she wouldn't want to be seen dating a guy like me.
"What you thinking of?"
An angelic voice appeared behind me..
(Y/n)'s POV
I went out on a walk to clear my head, my tummy was roaring loudly. Coraline was at home, using cheddar as mice bait so we can eat tonight at our Other Parent's. She better leave some cheddar out for us to eat too.
I was walking to the well, might explore and try to see what's down there. However, I saw a familiar boy sitting on a rock besides it. The boy who I was trying to get out of my mind. I sneaked up behind him as he sat in silence, he seemed to pondering something by the was he was sat
"What you thinking of?" He jumped up and let out a scream, voice crack. I giggled and he gasped for breath
"(Y/n)! Y-you scared me!" He chuckled nervously
"Sorry about that, what are you doing out here, in the rain, all by yourself?" I asked, tilting my head to the side slightly. He looked down at his feet, twiddling his thumbs
"O-oh nothing, nothing. I just like to come here, that's all" he gave me a reassuring smile, I rose my eyebrow
"Are you sure that's all? You seem.. anxious" I commented
"No no! I'm fine, really. Just out here enjoying the view. Why are you out here?" The tables have turned, as he asked me the same question
"Just wanted to go on a walk to think about stuff" I answered, sitting on the stone next to him.
"What kind of stuff?"
"Just.. like, okay - um.." My palms became sweaty, think of something..
"Moving here" Yeah, that's a good enough reason..
"Moving here?" Wybie repeated, I nodded my head
"Yeah, and why we did. Just because I had a lot of fights and bad attitude. Now, we're struggling more than we ever have before. All because of me" Wybie gave me a sympathetic look
"Our meals become smaller and shittier each day, last night we had fucking buttons and pasta! I lost my friends, Coraline lost her friends. I fucked up, to say the least. I remember our argument the day we were forced to move, it was a big one" I didn't realize my eyes were full of tears at this point.
"I've never seen her that upset my entire life.." I felt a gloved hand on my shoulder, I looked up and saw Wybie's eyes staring into mine softly.
"C'mon, let's get you home. You're shivering like a leaf" he took of his coat and wrapped it around me, I couldn't help the memories that flooded into my mind..
