Your POV
"Cory, please just let me sleep.." I pleaded, she relentlessly jumped on my bunk of the bed. This little asshole is going to be the death of me.
"Bitch I'm hungry and there ain't any food, you said we could go to the shop!" She retorted, not going to lie, I was feeling a bit hungry myself. I listened to my stomach growl, sending vibrations through my body. I breathed a long, lengthy sigh.
"Ugh, fuckin- fine. Give me a couple's of minutes"
"I swear, you wake me up one more time then I'm going to slug you" I added, flinging the covers off of me and heading to the wardrobe.
"Yeah but you love me, so you can't. Plus, it's 12pm. So wake up!" She called out as she left the room, giving me some privacy so I could change. I slipped on the same skirt from yesterday and changed my shirt, I decided to have a casual shirt on for today instead of a blouse.
"I almost fell down a well yesterday, mom" I heard as I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, mother was clearly focusing on her work more than Coraline.
"Uh-huh."
"I would've died."
"That's nice" I snickered at mom's blank reply, I decided to budge in and ask the question that was on Coraline's mind.
"Can we do some gardening when we come back from the shops? The weather is suitable"
"No (Y/N), rain makes mud, mud makes a mess" she replied, still typing away on her laptop. All of this writing, to be just about plants? Jeez..
"But mom, I want stuff growing when my friends come to visit. Isn't that why we moved here?" Coraline argued
"Something like that, but then we had the accident. Plus (Y/N)'s.. altercation, at school" I became defensive and glared at mom with a balled fist
"Hey, not my fault that Bri is a cunt, I kicked her fucking ass."
"And sent her to the hospital! I'm surprised you haven't wound up in Juvy, young lady! And watch your mouth!" She jabbed her finger at me, finally tearing her eyes away from the screen
"And it wasn't our fault you hit that truck" Coraline defended
"I never said it was." Was all mom said, not wanting to talk anymore. Coraline just kept on ranting
"I can't believe it - you and dad get paid to write about plants, and you hate dirt!"
"Coraline, (Y/N), I don't have time for you right now. And you still have unpacking to do, lots of unpacking!"
"Ooo yeeaah how exciting!" I replied sarcastically, doing some jazz hands. Mother looked as if she had just realized something before she bent down and picked up something, wrapped messily in tissue.
"Oh, some kid left this on the front porch." Me and Coraline unraveled the newspaper and found a note within. And two dolls.
"Hey, Jonesy's. Look what I found in Grammar's trunk. Look familiar? - Wybie" Wybie? H-how did he get these dolls? Did he make them look like us? And what is that warm feeling in my chest? That's squeezing so hard that it's difficult to breathe.
"Aaw" I whispered, inspecting my doll with starry eyes. Coraline just stared at her doll in confusion, and distaste.
"A little me? That's weird.."
"What's his name, anyway?" Mom asked, showing some kind of interest.
"Wybie, (Y/N) has a cruussh on hiiimm~" Coraline teased, her fingers intertwined and resting on her cheeks. I scowled at her before walking away to get my shoes on.
"Do me a favour, die. And get your shoes on, let's bounce"
Time skip
Coraline and I walked into the house carrying small plastic bags, containing a few (f/d)'s for me and an apple soda for her. The bag also carried some chocolate products and sweets.
The weather hadn't changed a bit compared to yesterday, still the same dark ass clouds and puddles. We've planned to do some gardening despite mom's wishes, just removing some weeds for now, rather than planting anything. Plus, it's not like we had the tools to do so. We wore gloves to avoid any dirt being caked under our nails.
"Come out you little monster!" Coraline ordered through gritted teeth, tugging at a pesky little weed, I walked over and assisted her. We pulled at the same time and soil spewed everywhere! We stared at eachother in silence before erupting into laughter.
"So, about you and psycho nerd.." I rolled my eyes and glared at the girl
"Uugh shut up, I don't like him like that"
"But he likes you like that, he literally called you Peach" I rose an eyebrow
"So?"
"Peach isn't an insult! Unlike 'Michigan Water Witch', do I have to spell it out for you?" She exclaimed, waving her arms around. I sighed and decided that I was finished with this topic.
"No, and these weeds aren't going to remove themselves! So shut yo' ass up and get picking"
"I'm just trying to help my sister get a boyfriend, what's the harm in that?"
"I don't like him. Can't a girl have male friends?" I tried to reason with her, she just crossed her arms over her chest and sighed with a unsatisfied expression.
"Boring."
"Remove the damn weeds, we still have plenty to d-" I was cut off by our father, calling out to us from the flat.
"(Y/N) and Coraline, dinner! Oh, and mom is steaming mad at you two"
"Damn, I thought we would get away with it too" Coraline pouted, I rolled my eyes and made my way to the house.
Another time skip
Outside was dark, the moonlight trapped behind the clouds that painted the night and no stars where in sight. Coraline and I decided to pass on dinner and instead snack on the food we bought earlier in our room. It was preferable to eating out of date Yorkshire puddings that were here when we moved in.
Me and Coraline were just talking amongst ourselves as we ate. We were on our phones, scrolling through social media, showing eachother memes every now and then. She placed her phone into her bedsheets, turning to me with a mischievous smirk.
"So, Wybie-"
"No."
"Come on! Look, all I want to say is that you two-" I cut her off again, as blatant as ever.
"No."
"Bu-" I sighed, irritability
"Listen semen-sniffer, read my lips - I don't like him!" I dragged out the words, pronouncing them with much exaggeration
"What did you just-"
"He gave me a doll, how sweet, but he gave you one too. He doesn't like me that way"
"He called you Peach!" She argued, I climbed down the ladder and went to my bunk.
"Go to sleep, it's past your bed time. Also we should've nipped to the pharmacy to grab something for your rash" I remembered, but she ignored that, focusing on my motherly ways.
"We are the same age! Don't tell me when to go to bed" Coraline huffed
"I am aware, but I'm still older. Goodnight Cory" was all I said as I flicked the light switch and climbed under the covers. I heard her sigh loudly before she also when to sleep.
