!! - slight sexual talk

we finally made it to the campground, i followed arnie and alice out if the truck to this big room with a bunch of tables. "this is the mess hall!" arnie turned to me. i just nodded, looking around at the other people at the tables. we sat down in the very back, just chatting for a bit. alice poked me with her elbow, "ow!" "look!" i turned to see what she was pointing at, there he was. tommy slater in the flesh. he sat down at the table across from us, i didn't realize i was staring until we locked eyes. he just smiled and waved at me, which i waved a little before turning back to alice. "oh my fucking god. yeah he's definitely changed since i saw him last." i felt my face start to heat up while alice and arnie laughed at me. "eugh god you're hopeless. we've got to get you guys together by the end of this." "sure like that would happen." right after i said that i heard a far too familiar voice. "welcome counsellors to camp nightwing!" cheers broke out around us, i looked up to the front of the mess hall to see my insanely obnoxious brother standing on a table.
"we have one whole month to get this place in shape for the campers! are you ready?!" once again the room was filled with loud, annoying yelling. what a morning. "cabins are first come first serve! so go get one while you can. only rule is that your cabin mate must be the same gender!" i looked at arnie and alice who didnt seem happy about the rule. "ugh. fuckin bummer. at least you'll have a chance with slater." arnie shrugged, "will you shut it?" i rolled my eyes and turned back to Kurt. "and last thing! today is the only day you will get to sit around! tomorrow we're gonna start getting the camp ready so enjoy it while it lasts! now go get your cabins!"

and with that everyone went off to pick their cabins. i was gonna stay with arnie until he said he wanted to cabin next to alice, meaning he'd be staying with some sunnyvale guy. i just decided i'd take the cabin at the very end, i want to be away from everyone if i can't be with my friends. i pushed open the door as it wasn't closed all the way, but i froze in place when i saw who i'd be staying with for the next three months. "oh—uh. hey!" tommy smiled. "hey..." i awkwardly smiled back. "so, i guess it's me and you this summer. like old times." he chuckled. "yeah. like old times. ah, i'll be back i'm gonna go grab my stuff—" "alright, and i already started setting up over here but if you wanna switch it's totally fine with me." i shook my head, "thanks, but i'm fine with whatever." i walked out of the cabin, a million thoughts racing through my mind.
"y/n!" alice shouted from the truck. i snapped out of it, heading towards her. she threw down my bags then hopped out, "so who're you bunking with?" i sighed at the question. "oh no don't tell me." she laughed. "slater. fucking perfect huh?" "are you kidding? that fucking sucks! i got stuck with joan, which isn't too bad cause she's a total pothead."
"at least it's someone i know. ugh. this is gonna be hell. it's already so awkward!" alice rolled her eyes. "you'll be fine. maybe you can finally fuck him, be his first time!" "alice! no fucking way! especially not with kurt here, i already know he's gonna helicopter me." "even if you guys hate each other he's still overprotective, huh?" i nodded. "un-fucking-fortunately." she put her arm around my shoulders, "well miller, good luck." she pushed me slight and smiled before walking away to her cabin. "yeah, i'll need it." i mumbled.

! time skip !

when i got to the cabin earlier tommy wasn't in there so i've just been chilling by myself for a few hours. i would hang out with alice and arnie but i don't really feel like listening to them flirt for an hour. so here i am, laying in my bed listening to music. i stared up at the ceiling just letting my mind wonder, reliving old memories and such. i was interrupted when i heard a knock on the door, i sat up and turned down the music, "come in!" tommy opened the door and greeted me with a smile. "you don't have to knock dude. this is your cabin too." i said before laying back down. "well i don't want to walk in on you dressing or anything—so i'd rather just knock to be safe." he chuckled and sat down on his bed, "where were you all day?"  "just walking around the camp, hung out with a few people. y'know. have you just been here?" i nodded. "don't really plan on making any friends here so."  "well, maybe you should. or you could...re make some friends." he mumbled the last part, but i got it anyway. "listen slater." i sat up, "i never wanted to stop being friends. everything just finally got to me and i took it out on you—which wasn't right." i heard him sigh. "i totally get it, i shouldn't have avoided you like that either." tommy stood up and walked over to me, he held out his hand, "can we try again?"
i smiled and shook his hand. "we'll see."

me and tommy sat on my bed talking about whatever, mostly just us remembering all our years together. "remember that time we snuck out in like 5th grade and your dad found us behind the grocery store? he was so mad!" "i don't think i've ever seen my dad genuinely angry, scariest moment of my life!" we laughed together, he put his hand on my shoulder and i couldn't help but feel a little warm inside. this summer is starting to look up a bit.

tommy looked out the window just behind us, it had gotten dark all the sudden. seems like it was afternoon just a few minutes ago. "we should go to bed, tomorrow is gonna be exhausting."  "ugh. can't wait. i'll probably get some shit job like toilets, ew."
tommy giggled, "you have fun with that then." he got up and walked to his bed, laying down as i crawled under my covers. "goodnight y/n."  "goodnight slater."
