Kokichi's POV

It was the last class before lunch, and I was off staring into space, when all of the sudden I felt something get thrown at the back of my head. I turned around, noticing a paper airplane, so I picked it up. I unfolded it and it read 'Ugly pig. We all hope you get hit by a truck' This was normal, actually, this is probably one of the calmest letters I've received. Most people in my high school don't like me. Sometimes I'm too loud, other times I don't talk at all and it really pisses people off. I do have a few friends that I treasure, but lately I've been afraid of them leaving.

The bell rang, signifying the end of class, so I got up and stuffed all my things back into my backpack. I walked up the closest stairwell and onto the roof, waiting in the usual spot for Shuichi, Kiboo, and Rantaro. "Hi Kokichi!" Shuichi chimed as he came over to me. "Hi!" I said, my face turning a bit pink. See, another reason a lot of people don't like me is because I like guys(Little reminder that it doesn't matter who you like as long as you're happy<3), and the guy I've happened to like for almost a year now is no one other than my beloved Shuichi. Rantaro and Kiibo came running up the staircase, their faces red from being out of breath. "S-sorry" Rantaro said, bending over, trying to steady his breathing. I giggled and sat down, motioning for the others to join me.

"Ugh, second period is so stupid" Rantaro complained. He had math, a subject he hated, and one I happened to be good at. "Kokichi, could you help me with my homework after school?" He asked. "Of course silly" I answered, smiling. "Kokichi, where's your lunch?" Shuichi asked, looking at me confused. How do you tell someone you have a fat crush on that your dad spends all his money on hookers, and your mom never comes home because she doesn't want to see him, which means no one is ever restocking food in the house other than when you get paid for the part time job you have? The simple answer is, you don't. I might be 20 pounds underweight, but at least I can still function like a normal human being. "Oh uh, I forgot it" I said, giggling at the end to try and convince them. Shuichi only became friends with us when he moved here a year ago, so he had no idea about my home life, whereas Rantaro and Kiibo knew all about it.

"Here, have this," Shuichi said, handing me a muffin. "No, no, you eat" I said, giving him a bright smile. I never really felt hungry anymore, so I didn't have to worry about eating, besides, I won't get fat this way. "Kokichi please" He said, I swear I could see sadness somewhere on his face, so I gave in and took it. "Thank you Shumai," I said, biting into it. I glanced out of the corner of my eye to see his face bright red. I giggled a little and continued to eat. "Hey Shuichi, wanna go to the park after school?" Kiibo asked. He agreed, and they made plans to meet up. Suddenly, the bell rang, making all of us jump, and then laugh about it after. "I'll see you guys after class" I said, running down the stairs. I couldn't get the picture of Shuichi blushing about the nickname I gave him out of my head.

The last two classes seemed to pass by fast, and before I knew it I was waiting outside for Rantaro. "Boo" He yelled behind me, causing me to jump and yelp. "Haha, got you good" He said, laughing. "Haha, very funny" I said, sarcastically. "Come on, let's go!" He said, staring to walk away. I caught up to him and we started on our walk to his house. "So," He said. I looked at him, confused. "I saw the blush on his face during lunch" "Shut up, Shut up!" I yelled, not wanting to hear him talk about it. "Come on, you gotta tell him" I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, tell him I'm in love with him and get my heart totally smashed? I'm ok, thanks for the offer" I said, rolling my eyes. "Kokichi, as your best friend, I really think you should do it now" I stayed silent.

Rantaro knows how scared I am of him rejecting me, yet he still insists that I should tell him. I mean, it's not like I don't WANT to tell him, I just can't. "What if, I help you" I looked at him, "How?" "Oh so now I have you attention He said, a smirk on his face. "We'll discuss it at my house" He said, as we continued going towards his house, but as we passed a really good smelling ramen place, my stomach growled. "Come on, let's get some. It's oon mee" Rantaro said, pulling my arm towards the shop. We ordered and sat down at a table, waiting for the food to be brought to us. "I guess we could talk about it now, and plan it more later" He said, pulling out his phone. "Sure" I said, sipping on the drink he got me. "Alright so here's the plan"

Shuichi's POV

"You w-want me t w-w-what???" I yelled, my face turning bright red. "Just ask him out to a dessert shop or something." Kiibo said, shrugging his shoulders. "But what if he doesn't want to?" I asked, feeling nervous. I really like him, and I really don't want to mess things up with him. Kokichi is very, uh, fragile. I've heard about how he gets panic attacks easily, but I've only actually been there for like 3 since we met, although I have been taught what makes him calm down quicker by our two friends. "He will, trust me" He said, turning to face me. "You are so blind you know," He said, smirking. I looked at him, very confused. "I don't even know a good place" I muttered, looking down. "The one by your house is his favourite, we take him there for his birthday" Kiibo said, "W-when do I ask?" "Tonight"
