Don't Dream It's Over~ Crowded House~Ran pov~
Looking up,
I noticed she stopped looking towards me as if she suddenly got nervous or uncomfortable with the way I was looking at her. I felt as if she didn't feel the same way I felt when our eyes first met each other's, in a way I felt disappointed, but I guess love at first sight doesn't really exist...does it.
I looked back at the menu, but suddenly I didn't feel hungry anymore, the only thing occupying my mind was her. And I once again look up to find those enchanting eyes of hers again, it seems as if she put a spell on me...but when I looked up, she was packing her stuff and seemed like she was in a rush to get out. I wanted to scream at her to not leave, but it felt as if my mouth was glued shut, and no words came out when she walked out the diner door.
I failed to hear rindou calling out my name, it felt as if I couldn't hear anything at all. I look up to see rindou looking at me with curious eyes, but all I could think about was wanting to look into her eyes again.
I suddenly got up feeling adrenaline rushing throughout my body, I had to find her because if I don't then I'll never find her again. Rindou looked startled, "Hey what the hell is up with you?", he looked at me with annoyed and concerned eyes. "I'm fine, but I have something I have to do...so just wait here okay." I said with an ambitious tone. I looked at rindou again and he seemed amused as if he knew where I was going, "It's that girl you've been staring at all night isn't it? Well don't take too long, I could feel my stomach eating itself out." He said with an amused tone while keeping his eyes on the menu. He always was the smart one, I couldn't help but laugh as I got out of the booth, but something caught my eye, it was a book left at the same booth the mystery girl was sitting at. I went over to grab it, and what do you know, it was Romeo and Juliet, well at least I had an excuse to see her again instead of looking like some stalker.
I put the book in the back pocket of my jeans and headed out the diner. Well, the problem is that I have no idea where she went, I frantically looked everywhere for any sign of her, but I couldn't find any trace of her. Well, I guess I'll follow my gut feeling, I thought as I turned right and walked down the sidewalk, using my gut feeling to find my mystery girl again.
As I walked on the sidewalk, I noticed the once busy area, seemed calm, but there was this feeling I couldn't shake off, this area late at night is full of gangs and delinquents and a great place for a girl like her to get in some trouble. I started to walk a bit faster hoping to find some sort of sign that she was nearby, and as I kept walking and looking around, I heard a voice coming from an alley way. I walked towards the alleyway and saw three delinquents surrounding a girl that I couldn't see, and as I went further in the alleyway, I saw the familiar clothes of my mystery girl. Well, this was one hell of a sign because here she was swinging her skateboard around like some lunatic, which I couldn't help but break into a smile while looking at her.
But it seemed like she was tired as she dropped her skateboard, and then those three idiots made their way towards her, I suddenly felt anger with a mix of an adrenaline rush coursing throughout me, I guess its time for my great entrance I thought as I made my way towards her.
And then I saw her, I couldn't describe how beautiful she looked under the moonlight. But unfortunately, the circumstances are terrible for me to admire that beautiful face of hers. And as I came into view of her, she seemed scared and panicked, and that's when I knew I was going to absolutely beat the shit out of these idiots who made her feel that way.
I then went up to where they were and looked right at her and said,
"Sorry princess, I hope I'm not too late."
And at that moment her eyes met mine once again, and I could tell that she seemed relived looking right at me.
After that the three idiots turned around at looked right at me, and I could tell they were 5 seconds away from shitting their pants. "Well, well, now what do we have here, three cowards terrorizing a girl making her way home, now I think you know what comes next don't you." I said with a sadistic tone, and before they could say anything back...well I lost control.
My fists collided with their faces, and I could hear their noses breaking with each hit I give them, but honestly, I really didn't care. All I could think about was if I didn't make it on time, they would have done something to her, and those thoughts fueled my rage even more.
When I finally stopped those three vermin's were all lying unconscious, I then looked around and saw my mystery girl looking right at me a soft smile painted on her face. I couldn't help but smile back, she didn't seem as afraid of me as I thought she would, she seemed happy in a way, and that thought just made me smile even more.
"Um...are they dead?", she said with a hit of curiosity laced in her voice. Oh, and by the way, her voice sounded like pure sweet honey entering my ears, it made me feel nervous and queasy at the same time. "No...they're just unconscious I think." I said as she made her way towards me. "Oh, by the way you left this...back at the diner." I said, as I pulled her book out of my back pocket and handed it to her. And as she grabbed her book, our hands touched, and it felt like electricity sparked as our fingertips passed each other's.
"Oh, thank you...also thank you for saving me I thought my skateboard idea was pretty great, but I have limp noodle arms so that plan failed." She said, and I couldn't help but laugh thinking about how she was swinging her board around.
"It's no problem, I look for any excuse to beat the shit out of someone." I said as we started walking out of the alleyway. I then turned towards her trying to make some sort of conversation with her.
"So, you like books...", wow great going Romeo stating the obvious, I thought to myself.
"Yeah, I like getting lost in stories it's a way to escape reality." I then turned towards her, and saw the sparkle in her eyes, it seems like books mean more to her than I thought.
We then reached the sidewalk, and suddenly I wished that this night would never end, but sadly all good things have to come to an end eventually. We turned towards each other, and it seems like she feels the same as I do, "I guess this is it, do you want me to walk you home?", I asked and hoped she would say yes...I desperately hoped she would say yes. "Oh, no that's alright, I can manage from here on out." She said as we both avoided each other's eyes.
"Well, I better get going, thank you once again for saving me." she said quickly as she turned the other way and starting walking. "Wait!" I yelled, as she turned around, "I never got your name." I said with desperation of knowing who this mystery girl was.
"I don't tell my name to strangers, but I do to people who get to know me." she said with humor laced in her voice. I guess two could play that game, "Well then, I'll call you Shakespeare, since you like reading his books so much." I said with this ridiculous smile on my face.
"Then I guess I'll call you Bean Pole, since your really freaking tall." She said with this huge smile that took over her face.
"Then I guess I'll see you around Shakespeare."
"Yeah, I'll see you later Bean Pole."
And then we walked our separate ways, hoping that we would see each other once again.
