Shinso's P.O.V

I groan as I wake up in my room again. I stayed up pretty late last night since I couldn't get the ritual out of my head, so I'm still a little tired

I sigh to myself

I make my way to the kitchen out of my room since I was really hungry
As I got there, Kendo stood there eating some fruit with her hand on her hip
She turned around and sent me a smile

"Look who finally decided to wake up, good morning father Hitoshi" she teased
I shot her a glare and her smile slightly fell
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today"

I ignored her and went straight to a specific cupboard. It had a jar of cookies in it, I figured that they would be an acceptable breakfast

"It's ten in the morning you know" Kendo tried to strike up a conversation, but I honestly don't feel like talking
"Great" I replied, reaching for the jar and taking out a few cookies

I heard her sigh softly "Also, Pony asked if you could cover her shift today, she's not feeling well"
I shook my head "Can't, I'm busy"
She nodded, a little disappointment painting her face "I guess I'll have more work today then..."
I finished eating one of my cookies and nodded at her statement "good luck"

Kendo's fists clenched a little, did I annoy her or something?
She's really annoying to me today, I wish I could shut her up or get rid of her

I'm starting to sound like him...

"I heard this one funny story down in the town today when I went to buy some things" she started, her smile returning
"The Koinu family thought they found a small dog in their basement last night, but it turned out to be just a very large rat"

I nodded, finishing my second cookie "good to know, I won't be going anywhere near them from now on"

The brunette chuckled "oh please, they didn't get sick or anything. They had a delicious stew though"
I almost gagged at the thought of that. Who in their right mind would eat creatures such as rats? Ah, that's right, poor people

I chuckled to myself

Kendo looked at me a little confused "what's up?" She asked
"None of your business" I said slightly smiling as I finished me third cookie

She slightly growled "Hitoshi what is wrong with you today"
I looked at her puzzled "why would something be wrong with me?"
"You sound so bothered when talking to me, I didn't do anything to you did I?" She raised her voice a little

I shrugged "well yeah, you're being kind of annoying"

A scowl made its way on her face
"Then why didn't you leave this room already if I'm bothering you so much?!"
"I would if you shut the fuck up" I sent her a glare and she gasped
What... What's wrong with me today

"Sorry... I didn't mean any of that, I'll leave now..." I apologized to her and walked out of the room

Maybe I'm being affected by the fact that I'll see him again soon... God I'm more excited than I thought
I mean, the only thing he did was hurt me... But that's the only way he shows love

I slap myself across my face, getting any thoughts out of my head

I got back to my room and put on some regular clothes, not really wanting to wear my priest uniform
I decided to wear a plain shirt and some random pants that I found laying around

As I got dressed, I went out of my room again and making my way out of the building
I still have to get some candles and matches. Also, I'll murder the crow once the sun sets, it's not like it'll make too much noise but just to be sure

My steps finally got me to where I wanted to me
I arrived into the town, specifically to the public markets. They were always there, just changing from time to time

I walked around looking for candles

There was this one market that had plenty of candles of various colors and shapes
I just had to choose which ones I wanted
Maybe these ones would do the- wait hold on, Y/n's favorite color is f/c, so I should take those

I picked three f/c candles and went to the lady who sold them

"Will that be all young man?" She asked
I shook my head no "do you perhaps also sell matches?" I asked
She sent me a smile "of course i do" she reached into a bag next to her and pulled out a regular pack of matches

"Thank you ma'am" I thanked her "how much is it?"

Afterwards, she told me the price and I gave it to her without any objections. Now all that was left was to kill the crow tonight
No problem, it's still early so I might as well visit Midnight and ask her for lunch

I nodded to myself and headed straight the that demon's house
It wasn't far away so that's good

As I got there is knocked on the door
Light footsteps were heard on the other side and then the door opened revealing Midnight
"Oh... It's you again" she groaned

"I have plenty of time, so I wanted to stop by here" I replied
"Why?" She looked at me bothered
"One, I'm hungry. Two, you still wanted to vent to me. Three, I don't have better things to do" I listed

She sent me a nod "okayyyy, I guess you can stay for a bit. That dude is not here right now, consider yourself lucky"
She stepped out of the way, and I that led her as I entered the house. I remembered where her room was from yesterday so I went that way

"Where are you going?" she stopped me
"Your room?" I said, looking at her and she put her hands on her hips
"I said that he's not home, so we can stay here"
I replied with a little 'oh' and came back into the living room, sitting next to her on the leather couch

"And the food?" I asked her and she shook her head
"You're gonna have to listen to my problems first, THEN I'll maybe let you eat. Besides you don't need it, you'll die soon so..."
I sigh "Could you stop saying that I'll die soon? It makes me uncomfortable"

She shook her head again
"I'm simply saying facts. Plus, I'm not the one who decided that falling in love with a well known asshole was a good idea"

I ignored her mean comment "well then you can start, meanwhile I'll find something to eat by myself" i stood up and went into the room I assumed is kitchen

She groaned and followed me "so..." She started
She kept on rambling about some random stuff as I looked here and there for some decent food. Everything was either old meat or plain bread...
Bread it is then

God I can't wait to see Y/n soon

"She for some reason took offense to that.." Midnight kept on rambling on and on about who knows what and I pretended to listen

I leaned against the window and nodded at her words
What will I say to Y/n when I see him... Should I plan it ahead or just say as things come to my mind?

I kept on thinking until I heard soft tapping on the window

I looked behind myself out of the window, seeing that it stared to rain
"Hm? Rain?" I mumbled and Midnight stopped talking for a second

"Seems like it," she added "it's getting pretty heavy, you're lucky that you're not outside right now"
I sent her and agreeing nod

"If it doesn't stop until tomorrow, I'm afraid you won't be able to do the ritual" I heard her chuckle silently
I turned to look at her "it's just some rain, it's not like it'll kill me if I go outside"

She looked at me with a scowl "why do you insist so much on doing the ritual?"

I thought for a second before turning to look out of the window again, now at a full storm
"I don't know"
