•Samantha's POV•Today was Saturday. Finally, the day her family came over and especially the identity of the mystery guests.
She tried to pry her mother into revealing who they were but to no avail. Samantha knew her mother wouldn't tell her but it was worth a try.
She got ready and wore a presentable dress and fastened her hair with a hair pin. Samantha made her way downstairs where her mother was frantically running all over trying to get every thing to be perfect.
"MUFFY!" Emilia shouted for the house elf, "Now where is that house elf!" Muffy popped in on time and asked her what her mistress would like.
"If possible, may you check the Christmas ham? I need it ready before the guests arrive. Hurry along!" She exclaimed. The elf replied with a curt nod and apparated away.
Her mother resumed running all over the house and Samantha continued down the steps. She saw her father calmly reading his daily post and decided to approach him.
"Good morning father." She said pecking his cheek.
Francis took his reading glasses off and folded his paper. "Good morning my darling. How was your sleep?" He asked and she replied with saying it was good.
"Why is mama so stressed about today? I saw her frantically running around the house. It's like she was in twelve different spots at the same time!" Samantha exclaimed.
"It's best not to get in her way. I'm our many years of marriage, I learned that it's the best if we don't touch, go near, or move anything when she's decorating." He said as he shuddered as if he remembered a certain event. "She will curse our heads off." He whispered. "Now run along and grab some breakfast before she sets up the dining table." And with that, Samantha ran off to grab some toast and fruits for breakfast.
After she ate, she finally got a chance to catch up with her mother. "Mama!" Her mother spun around to see Samantha trying to catch up.
"What is it my darling?" Her mother said as she bent down to her level. "I'm terribly busy right now, the guests are arriving in less than five minutes and I'm no where near finished!" She exclaimed as she held her forehead.
"Oh, I was just wondering if what I'm wearing is good enough for our guests and what time Tonton and Tatie are coming over?" She question. But before Emilia could answer, her mother was whisked away by a house elf on concerns about the feast.
Samantha sighed and decided to wait it out in her room, remembering her father's words about getting in her mother's way when prepping the house.
Samantha started getting bored in her room as she waited for the doorbell to ring. She's already tried everything there is to do in there. She's played with Achilles, got a breath of fresh air from her balcony, laid in bed for some time, and even organized her vanity TWICE!
She was petting Achilles and lounging on her chair when she heard her mother call out for her.
"I'm on my way down!" She yelled back. Samantha made herself look presentable again and brushed her hair one last time. "We can't have any bad first impressions now can we?" She thought to herself.
She strolled down the hallway and to the main staircase that led to the front door. She saw that the door was open but she couldn't see the people in it because her parents were blocking the door.
