𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒏: 𝑳𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔

•Samantha's POV•

School was normal, I guess. If you count the stress about the tournaments normal. There's been a rumor that there was a ball coming up, don't know what that's about.

During Herbology, I got placed with Malfoy. MALFOY! Of all people. It was well, neither bad nor good. He kept saying "you are doing it incorrectly again." and kept bickering with me. But that's besides the point.

When we were dismissed, I got to stowing away my books and quills when he slide a letter to me. As I was about to ask him what it was about, he was out the door.

"Boys keep getting even more peculiar" I thought to myself.

Nevertheless, I opened it. It simply was written in neat cursive. It stated,

𝔇𝔢𝔞𝔯 𝔏𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔠𝔥𝔞𝔯𝔪,

𝔐𝔢𝔢𝔱 𝔪𝔢 𝔞𝔣𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔠𝔲𝔯𝔣𝔢𝔴 𝔞𝔱 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔮𝔲𝔦𝔡𝔡𝔦𝔱𝔠𝔥 𝔭𝔦𝔱𝔠𝔥. 𝔒𝔥 𝔞𝔫𝔡 𝔟𝔯𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔪𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔬𝔣 𝔱𝔥𝔬𝔰𝔢 𝔱𝔯𝔢𝔞𝔱𝔰 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔪𝔞𝔨𝔢.

     ℭ𝔬𝔯𝔡𝔦𝔞𝔩𝔩𝔶,
        𝔇𝔯𝔞𝔠𝔬 𝔏𝔲𝔠𝔦𝔲𝔰 𝔐𝔞𝔩𝔣𝔬𝔶

What?! Why is he being nice again? I will never understand the mind of a teenage boy.

Might as well go, my friends should be asleep. Besides it's Malfoy. I'll be fine.

She didn't think the need to tell anyone, I mean we are in the school grounds and he's absolutely harmless, disregarding his wand.

Besides, what was he going to do? Tell his father about them meeting up? She laughed at the thought

Later that night Samantha waited for everyone to fall asleep. She slowly crept out of her bed and grabbed a small picnic basket from under her bed.

With the treats she though Malfoy would like.

She opened their dorm door and slipped past.

"11:45 pm" her wristwatch showed. "Perfect timing" she thought to herself.

Samantha made her way to the quidditch field and didn't see Malfoy yet.

She thought he was chicken and bailed on her when a gust of wind passed her back.

"Oi, Lovecharm! Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna join me. Unless you're scared of losing a race to me." Samantha turned around and saw Malfoy smirking while on his Nimbus 2001.

"You wish Malfoy. I believe that I could beat you with one hand and myself blindfolded." She snapped her fingers and her broom came next to her.

Samantha flew up right next to him. "As being raised a pureblood gentleman, I shall let you have a ten second head start." Malfoy said looking smug.

She rolled her eyes. "No I insist, I shall let You have a head start. It's only the polite thing to do." She said giving him a competitive smile.

"Alright." He said in a sing song voice. "You are only going to make this easier for me and harder for you Hufflepuff." He said confidently and he took off.

Samantha waited as she promised then took off. She gained speed but not enough. The race was three laps around the pitch.

The pitch was dark. Nothing but a few lanterns to light the stands. Certainly not enough to fly around clearly.
