"I'm Lex." I said, "and this is my sister, Taylor."

"I'm Addison, but everyone calls me Adi. That's Andrew." Adi finished, nodding her head in his direction.

     "Hailey." Hailey introduced herself.

"Well nice to meet you." Connor smiled.

"Connor who- oh," The taller one said walking up. "I'm Connor's brother Travis Stoll."

     "Stole?" Adi asked.

     "No, Stoll. S-t-o-l-l." Connor said.

"Well, let's show you two where your classes are." I turned to Travis. "Do you have your schedule?"

     Travis handed me his schedule.

"Sorry Travis, I don't know where any of your classes are. Andrew, do you know where these rooms are?"

I handed him the schedule, he looked it over. "Yeah. Only because the basketball boys have to jog through the halls."

Adi was looking over his shoulder, "Track does that too."

"Okay, so you two show Travis around and Hailey, Taylor, and I can show Connor around. "Is that okay with you?"

     "Yeah," Connor said.

"Meet back by the main door when you're done."

I looked over Connor's schedule and held back a laugh.

"What," Connor said looking between me and Hailey, both of us were laughing now.

"Nothing." Hailey and I said simultaneously.

"Nothing, just me and you have all the same classes, so, if you wanted to, you could just stick with me Monday and not have to be shown around today," I said.

"Cool, so could we just hang out here until they're done," Connor said.

"Yeah. And we could all hang out at the park when we're done here." I said. "There's this grove where the trees are so close together it's like a room. It's beautiful and quiet."

Connor looked at me like he didn't have experience with quiet. "Not used to quiet."

"Well, you'll see what I mean." I shot a small smile at him.

The others showed up. "You guys want to go to the park?"

"Sure." Andrew and Adi said together, then looked down blushing.

We walked down the street to the park.

We weren't more than 3 minutes away from the street when Connor tripped and nearly got himself stabbed by some old metal poles. I caught his wrist and pulled him up, causing me to lose my balance and fall on the poles.

One slit my cheek and the other went straight in my stomach and out my back.

"Lex! Lex! Lex! Lex! Lex!" Their voices blended together and Taylor fell to the ground. My head spun.

Someone pulled out their phone and called my Dad. "Lex is hurt. Meet us at the ER."

Someone else picked me up and started to walk me to the sidewalk. I focused my vision to see who was carrying me. Connor.

     "Which way?" Connor said frantically.

"Follow me!" Hailey. Hailey said sprinting ahead.

Travis came up with a bag of what looked like Rice Krispy Treats. He pulled out a square and broke off a piece.

"No. She might not be one of us." Connor glared at his brother.

"If we don't she could die!" Travis shouted.

"If we do, and she's not, she will die," Connor said, moving faster.

Travis put his snack thing away. "Here." He handed Connor a strip of cloth. Connor pressed it against me, carefully applying pressure.

Ten minutes later we bursted through the doors of the emergency room. One of the people at the desk saw Connor holding me and rushed to get me in the back.

I woke up to see someone talking with my Dad.

"She's lucky her boyfriend got her here when he did." The Doctor said. It was my aunt Tori

"She doesn't have a boyfriend," Dad said.

"It didn't look that way to me. He came in here, her in his arms, both of them covered in her blood begging someone, anyone to help her. He refused to leave her side until you got here. She was calling his name while we were putting in stitches and we had to have him come and be there with her, not caring if he got himself covered in blood again. If he's not her boyfriend he's pining over her. That kid loves your daughter, Kyle." Was Aunt Tori talking about Connor?

     "Dad," I said quietly.

"Lex." He seemed relieved to see me awake. "Adi, Andrew, Hailey, and Taylor are outside if you want to see them."

      "What about Connor?" I asked.

I must've looked upset because Dad said, "Don't worry the boy who carried you here is out there too. You want to see them?"

I nodded. Dad opened the door and nodded into the room.

Aunt Tori gave my Dad a 'what did I tell you' look.

"Lex. Thank," Connor hesitated, fumbling over his words." Thank goodness you're okay." Connor was wearing one of Andrew's shirts.

"Lex." Hailey came in and threw her arms around me.

"Ow. Hailey-y, that still hurts." I shrugged her off of me. "Connor," I said as he prepared to slip out of the room. "Thank you. See you on Monday."

Connor smiled and walked back towards the bed. "How are you feeling?"

"Like I was run through with an old pole."

Adi and Andrew came in as I said this, Taylor behind them.

Taylor's face was covered in dirt and her hair had grass in it. "Hey, Lex." She said quietly.

Travis had slipped in the room and was leaning against the wall in the back.

"So, now that all of you are in here, what exactly happened?"
