AN: it's back to Lex' pov.

Spring break was weird. Well weirder than usual, and there are chunks of it that I can't remember.

"Earth to Lex," Andrew was waving his hand in front of my face. "Some people need help. Not everyone can avoid studying and still pass."

"What was the question?" I asked.

"Which gods count as the major twelve?" Hailey said again.

I laughed. "How many times have we had this conversation." I listed them for them. "I've told y'all so many times."

Connor tripped on his way over to us. Travis said he'd be late, but this is cutting it close. "Sorry, I got a little held up."

"By what?" I asked.

"A monster," Connor gave me a lopsided smile. "What'd I miss?''

"Not much," I shrugged. "So, other than the 'monster,' how was your day?" I asked as he sat down next to me.

"Much better now," Connor tossed something at Travis.

I turned away to hide the blush creeping up my cheeks.

Hailey laughed at me, and I stuck my tongue out.

I scooted over so Connor could have some room. We continued to study for the one class that was making us take a test when we came back from break.

"Connor!" We all turned our heads to the shout. It was Alex Gilmore.

She ran up to us, and Connor stood up. "I've been looking for you everywhere." She cast an off look at me.

I knew that look. It was an apology. She looked at me like that a few times when we were dating, usually for something stupid, but why now?

I figured out what was happening seconds before Alex did anything. She pulled Connor down to her height and kissed him.

I choked back a sob. I grabbed Taylor by the wrist and ran the straight shot to our house. When the park was out of sight, I stopped running and let go of Taylor. She knew what that would do to me! She knew... And yet she still did it. Even worse, I still love Alex. Part of me always will.

Taylor took my hand, and we walked the rest of the way home in silence.

When we got back home, I went straight to my room and collapsed onto my bed. Adi and Hailey showed up a few minutes later. "Lex, c'mon, say something."

I let out a small groan, "Leave me alone."

"Not a chance," Hailey said. Adi sat at the foot of my bed, and Hailey dragged a chair over. "Are you okay?"

"No," I rolled so they could see my face. "My crush and my ex, of course I'm not okay," I tried to stop the tears from falling, but it didn't work.

Adi's phone started ringing, her tone for Andrew. Adi looked at it and rejected the call. "I'm worried about you, Lex. We both are."

"I know it's just a lot. That didn't seem like something Alex would do. You guys must have noticed we were all so close for years. And the look she gave me before she did, it was almost like a warning. I-"

"Lex, slow down. You gonna make your brain explode. Besides, I don't know what Alex would do anymore. I don't think she does either," Hailey put a hand on my shoulder.

My phone started to go off, and I reached to check it, but Hailey scooped it up before I could. "Connor says that he has no idea what Alex was thinking and that he's sorry. He also said that you left so fast you left Taylor's jacket at the park."
