What's taking so long Adi!? -Hailey Black
We're waiting -Me
Open the door -Adi Foster
I opened the door and ushered her inside.
"Wanna listen to some music?" Adi asked walking over to my speakers.
"Not too loud. My Dad has to work late tonight so he's sleeping." I said.
"Hailey, you change first," Adi said.
Hailey grabbed her dark blue dress leaving Adi's red one and my royal purple one with black curly designs.
We had 20 minutes to finish getting ready and get to the school by the time we all changed from jeans and t-shirts to the dresses my Dad bought. "Your turn Lex," Adi said.
"I don't do make-up," I said.
"Then heels," Hailey said.
"How about you guys do my hair."
"Deal. Oh yeah, don't forget you two have to do blue tips this weekend." Adi said.
"Come on we're going to be late," Hailey told Adi, who was finishing my hair.
"Done." Adi declared.
"Pass me my boots," I said. Adi handed me them and I pulled them on.

We were late.
"Oh, there's Andrew. We meet up at Lex's house right." Adi asked.
"Yeah," Hailey said as Adi ran off. "Travis."
Travis came over. "You ready."
"Yep. And don't worry I know you like someone else."
"Yeah," Travis said.
"Travis, where's Connor?" I asked.
"Over there, waiting for you and avoiding Alex." Travis pointed to a corner by the bleachers.
"Thanks." I walked over to where he'd pointed.
I almost made it over there without tripping. Almost. I tripped over nothing and fell straight into Connor, my lips on his.
That's the second time it wasn't a dare. I pulled away, "Sorry."
"S'okay. You look beautiful, Lex." Connor smiled.
"Thanks. You look handsome." I said looking at the black dress pants and blueish-purple button-up shirt Connor chose.
"You wanna dance?" Connor asked.
"Let's go," I smiled and grabbed his hand.
We danced for like 2 hours before a slow song.
"Uh, I don't know how to slow dance," Connor said.
"I don't either," I admitted," but it's never too late to learn."
"Okay." Connor put his hands around me, uncertain.
I put my hands on his shoulder and took two steps back, Connor moved with me.
Soon we were dancing like we actually knew what we were doing.
As soon as the song ended Connor dropped his arms and stepped back.
He must've seen Hailey coming because after he did, Hailey wrapped her arms around me from behind. "Aww! How cute! Lex is dancing with her crush!" Hailey smiled.
"Hailey-y!" I felt my face flush at her words.
"What!" She protested, "It's true!"
"Last song of the night kids. It's a slower one. Enjoy!" The DJ called out.
Connor took my hand, "Up for one more?" He asked.
"Always." I shot Hailey one last glance and stepped closer to Connor.

Connor Stoll's POV
Lex smiled as the song ended. I hesitated before pulling back.
"See you later, Lex," I said unsure of what else to say.
Lex pulled me into a hug and I held her there for a bit. "Tomorrow," Lex whispered.
"Okay."
Lex pulled away first, blushing almost as much as I felt I was. "I gotta go. My Dad wants me home early." Lex turned and walked a few feet before turning back to smile my way.
"Hey, loverboy." Sam said, starting to laugh, "Whatcha doing."
"Wha- oh. Hi Sam." I said.
"Why'd you let her walk away," Sam asked.
"Huh?" I said. "What do you mean?"
"You know you love her. You could have walked her home, kissed her goodnight, something." Sam was exasperated. "You're as oblivious as Percy."
"Hey," I said. "What's that supposed to mean."
"Bye," Sam said taking off.
"Bye," I mumbled.
I walked down the road to the place Travis and I were staying.
"So, how was your dance?" Travis said as I flopped down on the couch.
"Great."
"Is that sarcasm I hear?" Travis joked.
"Nope, just annoyance."
"Sam again?"
"Yup. She says I'm as oblivious as Percy." I told him.
"Well, she's not wrong."
I smacked him with a pillow as our chaperone walked in.
"Dinner you two." Daniel was also a son of Hermes. He'd left camp around the same time Luke showed up, and now he's gone and Daniel's back. "Get off the couch with your shoes Connor."
We ate and got sent to bed, even though it was technically Christmas break.

I scribbled where I was going on a sticky-note and quietly slipped out of the house.
It was around 10:30 when I texted Lex to find out where she wanted to meet up.

I kept walking down the road. I ended up sitting on Lex's porch for a solid 10 minutes before she got back.
"Hey," Lex smiled brightly.
"Hey. Um, I was wondering." I couldn't form the words.
"What?" Lex asked.
"Do you maybe want to go to that spring break trip with me?"
"Uh, can't. My Dad's taking us somewhere." Lex gave me an apologetic smile.
