Your lip quivered a bit before you closed your mouth with determination, swallowing the lump in your throat.
"Then...", you spoke softly, looking him in the eye,
"I guess I'll just go"

He pierced you through the skull with his heavy glare, his hands clenching in the pockets of his school uniform.
With a broken smile and one last look, you turned around.

Maybe it was easier this way. Maybe you saved yourself from confessing and probably humiliating yourself even more?
Your head filled with maybes and if's, you walked yourself to your bedroom, not even remembering how you arrived home in the first place.
The numbness ate you alive.

Maybe it was for the better If you didn't tell him before he lashed out.
Maybe this kind of goodbye made more sense.
Or maybe you were just a coward.

What would he do If you told him you were moving away anyways?
No, don't fool yourself anymore.
