"Have a nice day!"
The bell on the door chimed letting another puff of cold air inside after the door closed behind another regulars from the area.

The excitement bubbled up in the pit of your stomach while waiting for the last five minutes of the shift to be over. You couldn't wait to spend some time with Baji. Maybe everything will work out just fine and maybe you overthought too much about him before.

Water droplets formed on the window.
It started raining. You worried about him getting all wet remembering how careless he was the last time he left his hair still damp from the shower.
What worried you even more is that he wasn't answering your last text. But you shrugged it off, thinking that he might be driving.

Standing outside of the store, you waited for any sign of him showing up and the more minutes wavered off, the more uneasiness prickled on your skin.

After another twenty minutes, you fished out your phone out of the pocket of your blazer.
It was getting colder, your hands started shivering as you tried to click on his contact.

the number you have dialed is not available at the moment

Did he forget?

Did something happen?

You weren't shivering from the cold anymore and slowly you started walking towards your home while wondering who to contact. It didn't matter that he didn't show up, but instead that you couldn't reach him at all.
Should you call his mother and ask If he's home?
Or maybe someone else would be better, you didn't want for him to get in trouble at home.

But, then again, your contact book didn't contain a lot of phone numbers. Should you call Emma so she could ask Draken about it? Maybe that would be the best choice.

Your half lidded eyes skimmed over the names in hope to find the one you looked for. Fingers of one hand curled around the device while the other stayed in the pocket of your blazer as to somewhat keep yourself warm.
It's really that time of the year for scarves and more layered clothes, you thought to yourself.

Before you could begin to press the call button, a message popped up.

Unknown number.

It didn't faze you as much as the content of the text.

╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮

Something came up

Baji told me to tell you not to wait up

It's Chifuyu btw

╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

So that's it?

You overthought again. Your shoulders relaxed as you retrieved your phone back to the pocket. He'll probably brush it off the next time he sees you and tell you why he didn't make it, like he always does. You weren't expecting anything different this time anyway.

The bliss you were in the whole day washed away and the old dullness engulfed you again.
Stop getting your hopes up.
It's bound to happen again. You never minded anyway, so this time shouldn't be any different.

The same usual routine you were always in continued the next day. Your boss approved your request of working on Saturday since you didn't have anything to do that day anyway. All of the homework was done, the exams have passed and you had nothing else to do.
Of course you thought about hanging out with Emma and Hina, but both of them were having plans on spending their time with their boyfriends. They haven't seen their partners much that week so it was understandable.

Sorting some of the boxes around it really made you pity yourself and the position you found yourself in.
Teenager asking their boss to work on a SATURDAY. Who does that?
Seriously, the old man will start to think you don't have social life at this rate.

You tried not to think about it that much for the rest of your shift and the fact that the black-haired boy still hasn't called or dropped by helped to some extent. You'll talk to him probably on Monday.

Then again, slight disappointment still lingered in the pit of your stomach. Your manager let you go home for the day despite your disagreement.
You bickered to yourself on the way home until you felt your phone vibrate in the pocket of your jacket.

Maybe it's Baji.

Your eyes instantly lit up, unconscious to the way your heart rate picked up on a single thought that he'd be the one to call.
Unfortunately words 'unknown number' displayed on the screen.

"Hey", male voice could be heard from the other side of the line. It was kind, warm.
You very well knew who that voice belonged to.

"Hey, how are you?", you answered. A slight smile crept up on your face.
"I haven't heard from you in so long"

He chuckled lightly.
"Yeah, glad to hear your voice too. I've been doing fine, everyone is actually"

"Hold on for a sec...", you heard some shuffling and rather loud whispering, "Oi get off my leg... yeah, yeah, i'll ask..."

"You free today perhaps?"

"Mhm, I just got off work for today", you answered, eyes aimlessly staring at the pavement as you kicked some small pebbles around.

"Good, my mom wants you over for dinner"

"Alright, I'll be there"

How long has it been since you last saw them all?
