Tara's POV

Deathstroke knew almost as much as he needed to know. There was just one more question he wanted answered and I was the only way to get it.

He wanted me to push Manette to her limit. See what she could do.

And it felt great. I didn't like Manette the moment I first saw her.

Manette suddenly charged forward, surprising me and everyone else in the room.

She passed Robin and took a hold of his sword blade as she ran by, and it slid out of his case easily.

I barely had time to avoid it when she threw it at my head. The sword buried itself in the wall behind me.

My eyes widened in surprise.

Suddenly, I felt a white hot pain in my stomach. She kicked me!

I stumbled back and felt her grab my wrists and flip me over her shoulder almost effortlessly. I gasped when my back made contact with the floor and I felt a weight on my chest.

I looked up and saw Manette standing over me, her foot on my chest.

She glared.

"It seems I haven't forgotten many of my father's lessons. My dead father who worked as security for the royal palace in England. Who taught me how to hack and whose brother was a close family friend to Damian's family. So Tara, if you want to question me and who I am, or my allegiances, let me make one thing clear." She took her foot off of my chest and stepped back.

"I will mess over any idiot girl who feels like talking crap about my parents. You included." She said.

I propped myself up on my elbows as she left the room.

"It seems we've found our answer." I heard Slade say in my ear.

I just sat there and watched as her back disappeared around the next corner.

Raven's POV

"I suddenly like your friend much more." I said quietly after we left the room.

"Serves Tara right. Someone needed to put that girl in her place." Damian scoffed.

He left for his room and I left for mine, but I passed up the familiar crushed door that led to Manette's room. I heard something quiet coming from inside.

I stepped closer and recognized the sound of crying. I knocked and it immediately ceased. A moment later, Manette opened the door, her face completely rid of any trace.

"Hey. Can I come in?" I asked.

She nodded and opened the door wider.

I walked inside and saw that it was as bare as the guest bedrooms, minus her suitcase, a few clothes, and two computers.

"Did you need something?" She asked.

"Did you?" I asked.

She turned away.

"I know what it feels like. To lose your parents. But you  have us." I told her.

Manette's shoulders began to shake and I walked over and grabbed them, using my powers to ease the feeling of calm into her. She sighed and wiped her eyes again.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have fought with Tara." She apologized.

"It's fine. Tara kind of deserved it." I reassured her.

She laughed lightly.

"So, do you want to talk about them?" I asked.

She quieted, the smile melting from her face.
