Damian's POV

"They're here!" Wondergirl yelled.

I turned and look at Manette, who had been doing the dishes. We didn't expect an attack so soon.

"You need to get out. Go to the League of Shadows. My mother will protect you." I told her.

"What about you?" Manette asked, drying off her hands.

I put my hand on her bulging belly gently, "I will hold them off. With the others."

"I can't just leave you." She said.

"You have to. This isn't like Brother Blood." I argued.

Outside the building, Bumblebee's scream split the air.

"They need me, Manette! Promise me you will leave!" I urged.

She frowned, looking conflicted before nodding.

"I will come for you." I assured her, backing away before running outside.

I began to attack the parademons ruthlessly, knowing that Manette and Winter were depending on me. I would not forsake them.

I saw the Batmobile speeding away from the Titan Tower down the bridge. Suddenly, there parademons left the battle to fly after it.

"No!" I shouted, chasing after them.

I was able to take one down with my grappling hook and physics, but the other two reached the car. Manette swerved, activating the defenses and shooting at them.

For a moment, I thought it would work, but then they recovered from the surprise and attacked, unfazed by the insignificant bullets.

"NO! HERE I AM!" I yelled, throwing batarang and trying to get their attention.

They ignored me and went after the bigger target. The Batmobile was hit and swerved to the side, flying off the side of the bridge and into the water below.

I screamed, an emotion I had never felt before rose up inside of me. Like an animal, I quickly reached the parademons and tore through them. One of them managed to cut my chest, but it was insignificant.

I jumped off the side of the bridge, wincing at the hard impact with the water below. The Batmobile was still sinking slowly. Manette hadn't activated underwater protocol, which means she's unconscious.

I swam to it quickly, pulling out an extra rebreather. Through the windshield, Manette was laying with her head against the steering wheel, blood tricking out.

I flung open the door and water quickly rushed in, but I put the rebreather over her mouth just in time and plugged her noise.

Manette was limp as I swan to the surface. I panicked, throwing my rebreather to the side and grabbing her wet face.

"Manette! Manette, wake up!" I yelled.

She whimpered slightly, curling inward.

After that I think I lost it. I can't remember much of what happened, but I do remember carrying her back to the Tower, where I found everyone dead and Raven missing.

Dick's corpse hit me the hardest.

I was able to find my bike and drove off, brining Manette to the League of Shadows. At that point, it was experiencing it's own parademon battle.

Mother was there. She rushed us in and as soon as I had out Manette down, my blood loss hit me and I passed out.

When I woke up, Lady Shiva was leaning over me, grief im her eyes.
