Nightmare's Little Brothers [ShatteredDreammare Story]

I think this song kinda fits for Nightmare talking to Shattered or even Dream.

   No one's pov still

   The stage is set. The battle ground is quiet and the knights are in place. As said in the meeting room:

   "Dust and Blueberry are paired. Dust, You will be in front defending Blueberry. But don't tank. You can't take getting hit by Shattered's tentacles. So move fast as Blueberry will deal the heavy hits." as the king had said.

   As any honorable king would do. He leads, as the first one to the field. But in this case, Nightmare has no army at his back.

   "Horror and Ink, you are paired as well. Horror. I mean it! Don't get hit! Ink is in front because he will actually dodge attacks while you do the heavy damage." as he said before.

   The wind blows through the ever dying trees of Dreamtale. Nightmare's heart races, unsure of how any of this is going to go down. Someone could die. That someone could be him, or anyone.

   "What about me?" Nightmare had pulled Killer aside, away from Dream's ear.
   "I need you to protect Dream. I've asked him to sit this fight out for his own safety. But since Shattered will be after me, Dream could start getting reckless. I need you to get him out of Dreamtale if anything goes wrong. Do whatever you have to do to keep him away from this fight."
   Killer understood his orders.
   And Dream understood how to escape Killer if needed.

   Nightmare stands in the middle of the fields of Dreamtale. Little would most people know, that a stump buried under moss used to be one of the most important trees in the Multiverse. Now the wood of the roots  are rotten and left dead.
   The oldest trees from that time are either dead or dying. But new trees and fresh grass grow in it's place, as life has this terrible habit of never giving up.

   Meanwhile, Shattered sits up at the edge of the bed holding himself tightly, feeling so alone it would drive anyone crazy.
   Tears poor from his face quietly as he sits alone in a destroyed room. His tentacles wave around looking for something to hold, or hug, but anything they touch end up being crushed in their squeez.

   Nightmare is alive.

   Shattered knows that he would never do anything to hurt Nightmare.

   Nightmare is alive.
   But, so is the 'fake' that's keep him away from Shattered.

   Shattered gets dressed and gets ready. No doubt Nightmare will come prepared as well.
   Shattered teleports to Dreamtale and finds Nightmare in the fields of grass. As soon as Nightmare knows that he has Shattered's attention, Ink's portal drops him into the forest.

   Shattered growls in annoyance. He follows Nightmare's aura into the forest and looks around for him until Ink hops out of the bushes and throws red paint at Shattered.
   Shattered blocks it with a tentacle and attacks with another. While Horror jumps out and trys to hack at Shattered, but Shattered's tentacle blocks that one to.
   As Shattered realizes what's happening, he trys to get away only for Dust to jump out on the other side of Shattered and throw bone attacks at him. Shattered's tentacles defend him and even grab one of the sharpened bones, then Blueberry jumps out only for Shattered to throw the bone at Blueberry.

   Luckily Blue is fast enough to dodge getting hit in his soul, but his shoulder gets slashed pretty deep by the sharp bone. Blueberry holds his bleeding shoulder with his arm and jumps out of the way from Shattered's tentacle.

   Ink throws more red paint at Shattered only for most of it to get blocked. Dust jumps out at the same time as Horror, Shattered flicks the red paint on his tentacle at Horror that burns his hands but gets his tentacle cut up by Dust. Shattered's other three tentacles whip around and hack at almost every tree surrounding him. Making everyone duck for cover.
