apathy's a tragedy

and boredom is a crime

before they knew it, the game was over with y/n's team winning match point, 15-13.

though the game ended, hinata wasn't done with his get-out-of-jail-free card. except now it was a bit less get-out-of-jail and more of a favour.

"um, y/n?" he called, catching your attention. you walked over from your brother and to the orange-haired boy. a small lump in his throat formed as he watched you get closer.

"agh! i can't do this here!" he grumbled to himself and took your hand into his. as he guided you behind the gym walls you could see a faint blush on his cheeks.

it was quite easy to put the puzzle pieces together but you decided to let him continue.

once you had both gotten out of earshot from your brother and the others, a small surge of confidence was flowing inside him.

"i really liked playing volleyball with you today," he started.

yep, very obvious.

"me too."

it was a simple sentence but it made him smile. it was a domino effect and you wondered who else he could affect like this. his simple smile made others around him want to smile as well.

he had you wrapped around his finger and you knew it.

but you didn't really mind.

he was kind, considerate and the most genuine person you had and most likely will ever meet in your life. like a ray of human sunshine brightening your day at the time you needed most.

"it was the most fun I've had in a while," you concluded, only adding to his happiness.

"i know i just got your number and everything so i probably could've done this over text but i wanted to do it in person because i thought it would be better and—"

"yes," you answered. he looked back up from his shoes and stared straight into your eyes.

"you don't even know what i was going to say!"

"alright, then continue." you teased with a small smile. he pouted his lips before hesitantly continuing.

"would you, um, go out with me. like, on a date...?"

he wasn't sure why he was bracing himself for rejection. you had just agreed to do something with him despite not knowing at all what he was going to suggest.

it could've been the most dangerous thing in the world but if he was there you would do it in a heartbeat.

"then i stand by my answer," you answered once more. he immediately bolted to you, placing his hands into yours and spinning. it was the most childish thing you had done in your life, including doing dumb stunts with hajime as young children.

"s-shoyo, stop! we're gonna fall—"

on cue, his posture faltered and he falling atop of you. the sudden sound alerted the volleyball players on the other side of the wall. hajime, now noticing the disappearance of his sibling rushed over.

it was truly a sight to see.

hinata laying flat on top of hajime's little sibling while they both blushed awkwardly.

noya and tanaka ceased their laughing once noticing the deadly aura hajime was emitting.

"r.i.p hinata."
