Catching a break seemed to be incredibly rare for the pack. And after the hell of a night they had just been through, they hoped for a least a few days. But, they only received one night. One singular night to process and move on from everything they had endured. And even then, only some of them were able to. Roman and Lia spent their time together, Roman ordering they were to have a movie night like they always did. But this time insisted that they were to invite Lydia and Allison, to which they agreed they were going to try and do every time. Isaac and Boyd had barely been heard from — needing time to be alone. And Scott, he got a few hours. Dropping some food off for Melissa turned into a police investigation on two missing doctors and saving Danny's life. And now they were back to where they always were, fighting for the lives of Beacon Hills.
"Good morning." Ms Blake called to the class. "As you all know, Mr Harris is still missin— I mean, sick." She slipped, making Aurelia shake her head. "Anyway, I'm filling in while we all hope and pray for a more qualified substitute to take my place. Okay, so let's get started, shall we?" She joked, turned around to walk behind the desk.
"An English teacher teaching Physics." Lia laughed. "This should be fun."
Scott nodded, doodling in the top corner of his page whilst Stiles tapped his fingers on his cheek. "My dad said that the E.R. attending wasn't strangled but did die from asphyxiation. They just don't know how." Stiles informed the pair, hoping that Lia — due to her knowledge of things like this — might know what could have caused it.
However, her silence told him otherwise. "Do you think the on-call doctor could still be alive?" Scott asked, sharpening his pencil with his claws slyly. Not too sly that Lia didn't see him, making her choke on the water she was drinking.
Looking at his girlfriend worryingly, he patted her back until she said she was okay and proceeded to keep his hand there. "I don't know. But, Scott, there's got to be at least 20 other doctors in that hospital. At least, you know? Any one of them could be next." Stiles muttered, scratching his neck compulsively until Aurelia took a hold of his hand. Gently rubbing her thumb across the surface to distract him.
Jumping at the buzzing on his thigh, Scott leant back in his chair and tugged his phone out the pocket of which it was lodged in. Reading the contact name on the screen, Scott winced before answering. "Hey, Doc. Sorry, I'm in class right now. Can I call you back later?" Lia's brows pulled together as she leant on the table, now drawing on the back of Stiles' hand as she tried her hardest to not listen in on the conversation being had over the phone. But when she overheard him start to talk, her heart stopped.
"Unfortunately, no." His voice came out calm, but the fear could still be heard hidden beneath the front he put on. "I honestly thought I might never have to burden you like this, but I'm afraid, at the moment, you're my only hope." Scott, who was ducked down so Ms Blake wouldn't see him, began breathing deeper. "I'm going to be taken. I need you to find me." Ceasing the drawings, Lia looked up, watching a horrified Scott.
"Doc?" He called down the phone. "Doc, what's happening?" When the line went dead, he pulled his phone away from his ear and sat up. Communicating solely on facial expressions, the pair jumped up and ran from the room. Stiles watched them panicked, as he was sat closer to Scott he could hear the call without needing supernatural hearing. Not caring whether he would be told off, Stiles closed his open mouth and before pulling out his phone he looked down at his hand. Smiling at the note she had written next to a few of the doodles, 'i love you with every beat of my heart'.
